I 100% agree with this sentiment, the game was 1 big wrap-up, which is what the third installment of a trilogy is supposed to be.

By the way, i noticed that lots of people who like the ending, choose synthesis. Inckluding the writer of the article.

Synthesis kind of "choice of adult who does not see world in white and gray and mature enough to shoulder responsibility for the fate of the universe" (or, actually, a person's who would like to appear so).
But in reality, such scenario is quite a cliche. "I don't want to choose black or white, this makes me deep".

Why?

They're morons plain and simple.  High off the smell of their own hubris, being vindicated by all the "yes" men with their hands out for early copies and kickbacks.  The gaming industry is in dire need of another shake up.

Not only does it render every choice you've made throughout the series useless, it renders ME3 useless.....yay we cured the genophage.....but I doesn't matter.....yay we united Turians, salarians, and.Krogan.....just to kill everything.....

Ok so where's the third game then? The final part of the trilogy does not equal the finale of the trilogy.

Taboo you keep commenting that you have theories about the whole EC and that things are falling into place.

Do you believe that they are going to screw up the extended cut on purpose or something just to spite the overzealous fans?

If this article is true, BioWare was sh*ting on us from the day they began development.

When I hear things like this tweet I believe that they're going to screw up the EC not to spite fans but simply because their grip on reality is so tenuous that they still can't see the problem they've created and therefore what needs to be done to fix it. I had a bit of hope they were just keeping quiet about it but seeing this has eroded that hope somewhat since it appears that at least one person in BW still stands by the nonsense they've created.

I've seen the same presumption from anti-enders....everyone dies.

No, only synthetics get destroyed with the destroy option. Bioware has CLARIFIED. Mass relays are not destroyed. There is no galactic starvation.

They just don't get it.

Something far worse.

Something I was worried about since this debacle began.

This comment only furthers that notion......

This comment shows that the Extended Cut is going to be extremely disappointing.

BioWare went from being one of my fav developers to one I will avoid now.

He means that Reapers won. Cycle is complete. Galactic civilations have again been harvested. Shepard's struggle was valiant but in vain.

(Sort of) quoting Lewis Black: I should have known earlier about [BioWare], but I gave [them] some rope. A lot of rope, and then [they] hung all of us with it.

As Mcfly said
Even if ME3 were just one big ending, its all undone by it's own ending.

Doesn't matter if the whole game is one big wrap-up if the last 10-15 minutes is so ridiculous that the previous ~30 hours is nullified.

That entire article is complete BS I don't understand how anyone could claim how introducing a completely new character and plot to the trilogy in the last 10 minutes of the damn series is good writing. Not to mention how could anyone garner any sense of closure for any of the characters aboard the normandy or in the galaxy itself?

That Tali and Garrus relationship he likes so much well unless they are rescued guess what, dead
Turian and Quarian Fleets? same scenario unless intergalactic travel is restored

the list goes on, sure there have been tweets and whatnot about no one starving

but the thing that annoys me the most is that the ending seemed to be deliberately left ambiguous, pointless and completely lacking any real closure for the sake of "speculations" that has to be the worst way to write a story I have ever seen, its akin to Lord of the Rings ending abruptly when Golum (sp?) bites off Frodos finger, Or Star Wars ending as Vader is walking over to the emperor was luke is getting electrocuted you do not end trilogies this way. Jesus even the matrix (while terrible and poorly written) ended in a way where you could definitively answer the question did the war end?

And to top it all off with a wonderfull dash of COMPLETELY NEUTERING THE VILLAINS.

sorry for the rant but ugh

So basically, they've already had to retcon their crap, because what they've said is in direct contradiction to what's IN GAME.  Hey, but it must be clarification because they say it is, right?  BioWare: insulting everyone's intelligence with each passing day.

Don't give me this "the entire game was the ending"

For ****'s sake, this always happens with any story that is a trilogy or have more than one instalment.

Halo 3 is a big ending, Metal Gear Solid 4 is a big ending, Return of the King is a big ending (with a big epilogue), Return of Jedi is a big ending, so was Harry Potter Deatly Hallows and many others stories.

It is crucial for a story that is divided in more than one piece of work to use the last instalment as the ending and the conclusion of the story. Why the **** Bioware think they are so special for doing that?

ME3 is a big ending. Everyone knows that. Thing is, last 10 minutes of the ending have the power to **** up everything that people cared about, because, hey, art!

I will say it is a well written article and did make me think a lot, and I agree with a lot said. That being the case though, in the end of this end game it feels like the game stopped caring and that I wasn't supposed to care how good or bad the final moments were because I had closure moments through out the rest of the game. Like I am not supposed to care that the end left me felling like a wound up ball of tension with no release.
