How many people actually think Duncan is still alive, think about it.

Zero chance. He died in a cutscene. It's one thing for Fergus to disappear and reappear a few months later. It's quite another for someone to die in the narrative, then reappear and claim to not have died at all. It's quite jarring, and so it's supposed to be avoided.

Only if the fade to white during the cut scene means he turns super saiyen.

Most likely no. If Duncan was alive, he would have alerted the Grey Wardens, or anyone somehow.

I honestly thought Bioware was going to bring him back after the treaties were secured. I thought he was going to return for sure, but apparently my guess is wrong.

ROFL. You never know. That or he ate a sinsu bean.
I'd never forgive Bioware if they brought Duncan back. I'd also never forgive them if they didn't let us learn more about his past in the sequel. Duncan was the man.

I'm not sure but...read the novels, I heard his past is revealed in the calling. I'm going to order them soon.

i would have to say that he dies, but i can see that a person might have some doubts though when eveything turns white before you actually see anything. theres a good 98% he's dead though.

Why do you think the Horde took so long to make the two day march to Denerim?
Duncan held them off.
No, a cutscene implied that he died. You just saw a Darkspawn run at him with an axe before it faded out.

Duncan was actually hearing the calling and he´d be dead quite soon if not for Ostagar, which basicaly accelerated the end a bit.
The last thing I want to see is a returning Duncan in the form of a darkspawn or some ridiculous bs like that.
Duncan is the same as Gorion, he is cool because he died; and his death could be an inspiration for you to go on and do your thing. Just as you eventually come to know who Gorion really was, I´d like to be able to know what Duncan did when he was younger and even the classic trope of "you know kid, you remind me a lot of him".

Here's the thing. I think Duncan is too good a character to kill off so early. But, making him survive Ostagar is not something I would endorse. If he survived Ostagar, that means he was doing nothing while we were doing all the work and that's not how Duncan rolls.
However, a Ghoul Duncan, turned mad by the taint, might be tolerable. Might. Or it might be horri ble, depending on how well written it is.
The important thing is Duncan's beard is immortal and it now seeks another worthy vehicle.

Who's Gorion? Name sounds familiar.
It's possible the fade to white was him passing out from his injuries, and he was kept alive by the Darkspawn as a prisoner, or else Flemeth (or some other dues ex machina) made a sidetrip and picked him up, keeping him incommunicado from the main character. It'd be a VERY cheap literary trick though, and would royally ****** me off if they did something as asinine as that.

I was thinking he is still alive because how does he know the blight was ended and at what cost if he was already dead at Ostagar????

I was expecting Duncan to appear right up to the point where Riordan showed up and I realised he'd actually died in that battle. Made it more sad in later play-throughs.

I wouldn't be surprised if he came back as a corpse haunted by spirits from the Veil or something. Maybe the king, too. After all, the Veil weakens/is torn in places where there's lots of death, right? Ostagar seems to fit the bill.
Just think! You could force Alistair to cut down Zombie!Duncan.

He narrates the end because he's Duncan.
He may be dead, but he is still watching!

Duncan can't still be alive--he's the Obi-Wan of Dragon Age!

What do you expect to find in "Return to Ostagar" ? (regarding Duncan, of course)

Duncan is dead and it is a good thing too. Duncan is to worried about stepping on peoples toes, and if alive would still be trying to decide whos ass should grace the Ozi throne. Duncan is dead because you the player need a free hand to stop this blight without some old man getting pissy because you sass the mages. Sass the mages!? That is the least of thier worries now that i am in charge, get a foot in the ass, get in line or get dead, i have no time for niceties. I liked Duncan do not get me wrong but for the progression of the story he needed to be dead. Rhiordan (the orlesian grey warden) found Duncan's shield on the battlefield and he stored it in the warehouse so that later in case your fem char needs to further persuade Allister out of his knickers, ponce that he is, it is possible. Duncan if you played the Dalish origin pretty much told you before Ostagar what happens to the dead at the hands of the darkspawn, he would up in a stew pot and further on, he wound up as a warm steamy pile on the side of the road somewhere.
Accept it, cry if you must, wipe your eyes, and move on.
