Have you used the Toolset by chance?

Similar thing happens to me on occasion. Party members don't disappear, I just can't add them in the party screen - remove them, yes, add them, no. I found that if I quick save (F5) and then reload (F9), it fixes the problem for me.

i installed the thing to make some faces, thought it'd be cool Posted Image  Didn't really know anything about it but i've been reading the horror stories since reading this reply.  i uninstalled it and also the game and reinstalled the game but i still can't change party members in any of my saved games anymore.  I guess all my saves somehow got corrupted??  Posted Image

The toolset can cause saved game corruption. You need to try the steps in the Troubleshooting FAQ for "strange issues" though cause it might be that rather than a corrupt save. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I'm getting the same issue but never used to have it before 1.04 patch. I have many mods installed and really don't want to have to go through with a fine tooth comb to find the one causing the problem... :( I have tried removing several mods now and nothing seems to come up as the culprit so far.

...ah, and in this thread "many mods installed".

Sorry to report this, but some mod you have installed is almost certainly conflicting with 1.04. I'd start by looking at the mods that are most tied to game mechanics, and that haven't been updated in a while. Mods that change character appearance or add items are unlikely to do this, while any mods that add party NPCs or change dialogue options might very well be at fault.
