Now that is something i like to hear! more Games needs to have that happend to them!
Indeed, game productions have such huge amounts of creativity flowing into them, including the soundtrack that it's borderline discriminating that videogames have been ignored for such a long time.
If you compare AAA videogames with big Hollywood blockbusters, they actually cost about as much, if not more in rare cases.
And especially scenic and ambient tracks for videogames can hold their own against more "sophisticated" music. Really the only thing people can hold against videogame soundtracks are their own bias.
I for one hear a lot of music and as it turns out, most of that are videogame soundtracks, not because I'm a gamer and more familiar with those tracks, but because compared to our contemporary music business, they are just as good in the quality department and more importantly, it's new, not those rehashed covers and stuff you hear everytime in the radio.
