But it is true. Tali has a considerable hatedom outside the BSN. I've not observed the same for Garrus.

Frankly, I've yet to receive a straight answer as to what makes him such a compelling character. He was as boring as dried paint in ME1, barely spoke to me in ME2, and his character arc for both games is identical. His personality is something of a cliché storm, and I don't find him (or the mouthy anti-hero archetype) particularly funny or interesting or "badarse." The only thing I see that he has going for him is that the game rams his friendship down your throat like a bad porno. If it weren't for that, he'd be Johnny No-Mates. because his squad is all dead geddit lololo

I don't even dislike him. I just find him extremely boring. And his personality kind of trite.

Lol'd @ "Johnny No-Mates". I thought maybe there was some place where people disliked Garrus, guess not. I've called him overrated myself despite still liking him.

He has gotten a little more hate as of late, though most of that was in the first couple weeks after the release of Mass Effect 3. Some people had bizarre jealousy issues with him testing Tali's flexibility it seems, even though this only happens if Shepard is forever alone or boinking someone other than bucket head.

Yes they can. The differentiation between sexes is just irrelevant to them. At any rate, their physiology suggests there were male asari at some point, but "making evolutionary sense" probably wasn't on the devs list of priorities.

I never knew any existed till i got in here, all of my friends like him...hell hes in my top 10 characters.......good god.......also after ashley and miranda and maybe traynor liars is the s***....though she should be able to ie like every other character in the entire universe.....

......maybe what we have here is some racism goin on, some hics on the forums or something...i totally get the vega hate but jacob is an integral part of the cerberus/me story, a definite good guy on the bad side.....and hes an awesome biotic, much better than friegen kaidan...and tats it im starting a thread

Nope. People don't like Jacob because he's boring, suddenly standoffish, has a cougar activation field (if Shepard is female), and had his character derailed in ME3.

@random jerkface He did act slightly odd in me 3 {at least he had the same voice actor, unlike mordin-unforgivable} but overall i thought it wAS A GOOD WRAP UP TO his story....he started a family, became a father, which is fitting considering his backstory...hes never been THE most interesting character {like a legion or mordin} but wasnt designed to be...but as far as buddies go-id much rather go into it w/ jacob than say, garrus....and the hate doesnt seem to be tied only to him in me3 but overall

@cthulhu42 udina was designed to be a prototypucal corrupt politician...jacob was designed to be a guide, familar touchstone, other good guy human male for shepard to bond with amidst cerberus and all kinds of choas and crazy characters, and to show there are good ppl in cerberus...BUT COMIC RELIEF? come on, have NEVER heard anyone else tink that before...hes not funny, he may have some stupid lines but so do other characters.....

Male Asari?  What makes you say that?  They have breasts for feeding their young and wide hips for child bearing.

Kelly Chambers can die in Mass Effect 3, not just in the Collector's Base..
You can please everyone, but Liara does seem force on you. Personally, I never thought that about Garrus.

If you believe that Skyrim and Amalur are great games, do not complain about the writing in Bioware games.

Never played Amalur, but comparing the writing in TES and the writing in ME is invalid. The games set out to accomplish entirely different things.
