-Cullen: Want to know more about him. He seems interesting enough and he has been in the middle of our biggest conflicts. It's only natural we see more of him. Need a Templar and who better than a character we're familiar with but know little about?

-Morrigan: Who doesn't want this? Apostate Mage in the middle of a global conflict in Thedas and a major plot hole waiting to be resolved between her, Flemeth and the baby.

-Alistair: My personal favorite character right behind Morrigan. Return of the rivalry dialogue between Morrigan vs. Alistair.

-Hawke: I know this won't happen for many reason but you never know. What is the Champion of Kirkwall up to these days and why did he disappear? The character who played a major part and witnessed the rising Thedas conflict.

-Leliana: Sister Nightingale and right hand to Divine Justinia V. She will likely play a important role in DA3.

-Tevinter Imperium Mage: This would be very interesting to me. Considering how different their views of Mages are and open practices of Blood Magic, what role would he play in this war? Possibly a agent sent by Tevinter Imperium to pull the strings of the war and weaken Divine Justinia and the Chantry. A character who can show that not all blood magic leads to chaos and bloodshed?

-Qunari Saarebas: Another interesting character. Seeing the conflict through the eyes of Qunari Mage who has a completely different culture and follows the Qun.

-Varric: I liked Varric and felt I didn't get to know him enough in DA2. Need a Dwarf companion too! Who better to nag Hawke and tell a epicly exaggerated tale on our protagonist's exploits throughout the war.

-Seeker(possibly Cassandra): The Chantry is going to need all the protection and help it can get. Who better to tag along and get all the facts on what is going on for the Divine? Their role as the enforcer that roots out corruption and protects the Chantry makes their role potentially interesting in DA3. Possibly a neutral character despite their loyalty to the Chantry.

-Murder Knife: Be real...nobody can get enough of the murder knife. In this conflict, it might need to come out of nowhere more than ever.

Lessee...The big problem I have with my picks is that most of the characters I want to see again can have horrible things happen to them. The main two are Feynriel and Connor. The series needs more male mages. (And more reasonable mages too) Oh, and Varric too. Everybody likes Varric.

I like the idea of having Cullen along for the ride too. It could be very interesting seeing (and possibly steering) his character development in the mages-are-rebelling Dragon Age.

Actually, I'd like to see Anders again too, if only because that knife-in-the-back isn't nearly horrible enough for him. Maybe a chance to see demons praising him for making so much conflict to take advantage of, or something equally traumatizing that makes him see how bad he'd become. That would be more suitable than physical harm.

Desire Demon.

Or whatever BioWare wants. I loved the companions in DA:O. I loved the companions in DA II. I'll love the companions in DA III.

Oghren, Sten, Alister, Morrigan, Leliana, Anders, Varric, Fenris, Isabella, Nathaniel, Zevran, Shale and the Warden because hey that would be the best dragon age ever. But it's not gonna happen so I guess idk I'll be happy with whoever they give me

After reading thread after thread on the topic, I have compiled a list in my head ...

1) Nyree (Dragon Age: Redemption)
- She's badass; Reaver

2) a Chasind
-I just finished DA2:MotA; loved the Chasind character

3) Saarabes (Kossith Mage)

4) Dwarven Lyrium Smuggler
-at first, I was against this idea, but it would actually make alot of sense

these are the main four that I just love to see, but there is one more ...

5) a Darkspawn
-a thinking Darkspawn like the Architect

Cole(rogue)
Rhys(mage)
Evengeline(warrior)
A female Elven mage(I'm not tired of them yet)
A male Dwarf warrior
A male Elven warrior
A female Kossith rogue

I like variety, and I like seeing characters from the Bioware books make it into the games. Cole is one of the most unique characters they could add and who wouldn't want him in the game after that last page in Asunder? And a Templar with the spirit that inhabited Wynne could have some awesome powers. Not to mention how important a figure she could become, what with being a Templar who defected to help the mages rebel and being in love with the potential new Anders(though Rhys is obviously much less crazy and much less whiny).

I forgot to add one companion that I didn't get to see enough in Dragon Age 2

The infamous Murder Knife

He was beautifully designed in DA2 but you couldn't use him enough!!!

I dont like varric so not everyone likes him.
nor do i like cullen, i know alot seem to especially the females he was better in DA2, but alistair is already a templar , doesnt really follow its code or so anymore, but hes always been my wingman.

Morrigan of course favorite all time DA character

Leliana great character want to see more

warden even though is not likely but still story isnt finished. Where as hawke i could care less about

Id like to see a female qunari maybe

perhaps a dwarf i actually like. Varric was just unappealing and ogrhen was a step above only for his drunken humor.

I demand moar Varric. As an LI. Otherwise, new characters (plus Cassandra, but she's basically a given).
Actually, I'd really like to see a female dwarf companion. Sigrun was awesome, and quite popular. So why not have another lady dwarf?

I'd also like to have a city elf companion. We haven't really had one before. I guess Zevran sort of counts, but his main thing was being an Antivan Crow. I'm not a big elf fan, but I'd like to hear from the perspective of an elf who lived in an alienage. That would be genuinely interesting. Not another dalish elf.

And someone get Maria her Desire Demon. She's been campaigning for one for ages.

Do not really care who they will be. More important for me is that they are well written and that the party will be diverse.

But guess that there will be a seeker and that will be Cassandra.

I would like to see more of Cassandra and Varric. I would like to never see Alistair or Anders again in any capacity.

I would like more companions who are normal friends and family (like Bethany, Avelline, and Varric), not just hanging around because I am operating a traveling psychotherapy practice.

All-new cast is fine, although there are three Chars From The Past I'd really like too:

- Ariane : Caring, intelligent, non-nonsense type of girl. Also, Dalish.
- Cullen : Do I really need to explain this one?
- Stroud : For what little we saw of him, he seemed quite interesting. Although any generously moustached, slightly enigmatic grey warden would do. Emphasis on the moustache.

I'd also like the resident mage to be well-balanced, level-headed and with a sense of humour, like the herbalist in DA2. A walking proof the Chantry's concerns aren't always founded.

Morrigan, Alistair, Cullan, Varric, Cassandra. I think those are the only former characters I'd like back as companions. It would be so much fun to hear Morrigan and Alistair arguing again, or Alistair getting teased by Varric, or Cullen flirting with a female mage protagonist (haha).

Cullen: He's been a part of the story since the beginning. This has to be going somewhere.

Sigrun: Perky and deadly. What's not to like?

Stroud: I won't lie. Stephane Cornicard's voice (when he isn't hamming it up for Hubert) makes me melt. But he's also enigmatic, tantalizingly laconic, and seven different kinds of capable. You don't get put in charge of the Wardens on a mission that important unless you know what you're doing. Warrior or rogue, whichever Cassandra isn't.

Finn: He was too adorable for one short DLC. But I suppose that's too many human males. So substitute a new male elven mage if you prefer.

Female Kossith mage: Not necessarily a Qunari Sarebas. She discovered her talents late, against the predictions of the Tamassrans, who anticipated a future for her as a potter, and had just enough sense to escape and make her way to the Free Marches where she adopted a human name and an attitude.

Male dwarven warrior: Don't bother with the ale, this dwarf means business. He's an exile of the warrior caste at the tail end of a grudge. Some of his bitterness over being forced to live on the surface has bled off, but he's a long way from forgiving those who forced him from his home. We haven't had an angsty dwarf before. It'll be fun.

Cassandra: because a Seeker is inevitable and the fanboys demand it. Rogue or warrior, whichever Stroud isn't.

Female elven assassin: Katriel is dead, but the character concept works on a lot of levels. She's a city elf with no particular love of humans, but she doesn't much like elves or dwarves, either. A life of deprivation has hardened her to the point where she doesn't much care about anything but her own wants and needs... at least until somebody takes the trouble to draw her out and make her see that there is more to life than vengeance against those who never cared to begin with.

I definitely would not mind seeing Varric and Isabela again.

Avvar: simply because I find their history really interesting and I wish to know more.

Swashbuckler rogue: This needs to happen.

I love this thread!

1) Cullen - (Aside from obvious fangirl reasons) it would make sense for him to be made a companion/(LI) in DA3, not only because he's been in the previous two games and serves as a link between the main protagonists but also because he played a part in the Mage/Templar conflict, which will likely be addressed in DA3 in a big way. His character development and story arc is an intriguing one. Also I feel sorry for the guy, he's had some rotten luck, so to see him finally get some closure (and maybe a little happiness) would be nice. Also, we've never had a proper Templar companion before so I'd be interested to see if the lyrium addiction would play a part in the story, especially since a lot of the Templars have broken away from the Chantry so getting hold of the stuff could prove difficult or dodgy.

2) I quite like the sound of that Cole guy from the Asunder novel. Without revealing any spoilers I think he'd make for a really interesting character and serve as a wild card.

3) A Dwarf maybe Oghren/Varric - No party is complete without a dwarf! Maybe a female instead to mix things up a bit?

4) Finn - I wouldn't mind having that big old mummy's boy back on the team again.

5) A Kossith female would be an interesting companion, plus if their concept art is anything to go by they're pretty hot!

6) A bad ass female companion like we get in all Bioware games.

7) A pet, maybe Mabari or something else... what do Orlesian's keep as pets? Wyverns? Definitely no poodles though.

And finally, Murder Knife! Every heroes best friend!

I'd like to see Varric and Bethany make an appearance. I don't see how they could be companions though, givin their levels. Maybe DA3 could be a higher level adventure? They would have to expand the abilities. And have Varric and Bethany show up later, when you hit the twenties.

I missed DAO (i'll get to it but times are tough), but Morrigan is a fan favorite here, so i vote for her too. But she would have to be handled the same way as Varric and Bethany.

I really want a lady Kossith companion. Maybe Tal Vashoth, since Tallis has already shown some insight into the Ben-Hassrath side of things, and as far as I know the Ben-Hassrath is the only loophole for the "women fighting" actually within the bounds of the Qun - that we know of, anyway. Female Kossith are conspicious in their absense - there's a whole richness of experience there that we have no knowledge of at all, and I'd love to be able to fight and learn alongside one.

Besides which, a Tal Vashoth would just be generally awesome, a nice counterpoint to our experience working alongside Sten in DA:O. I was a bit disappointed when the option came up to ask Meraas to work for Hawke and he refused (even though his reasoning was totally sound).

Also, and this is hugely unlikely since the possibility of him getting Tranqu'ed/possessed would create a need for some serious narrative fancy footwork, but....Feynriel. He has some really interesting abilities that we've never seen anywhere else, he's got an interesting background, and in the "sucess" storyline he ends up spending time in Tevinter, which is a place I'd really like to hear more about. Most of the time the only insight we get on Tevinter is from former slaves.

I'd also argue for Cole (ULTIMATE ROGUE), since I think he'd be really interesting and unusual as a companion, particularly as a counterpoint to a few of our previous companions (trying to be vague because of spoilers) but I'm aware he has a set of personal traits that would make it really, super hard to actually make him a functional member of a party. As it is, I'm just sort of hoping we'll run into him at some point, possibly as the focal point of a sidequest.

Like many others, I'm sort of expecting Cullen and Cassandra to be in the party at this point, and if they are, they would be completely welcomed. If not, I'll be happy to meet whatever new companions are coming our way.
