I thoroughly enjoyed ME3 more than most games I've played so far. I don't care if YOU think the ending is bad, I like the fact the Bioware didn't go with the traditonal "good guy saves everyone".

This is too hard. ME2 gave more characters and game, at least it felt that way. All the games had some issue that if you isolated them would have dropped the rating. ME3 based on where they went with Tali would be an 11, but then that ending would come into the picture.

You go to a restaurant and have the most wonderful meal. Then comes dessert which is great until you get to the last few bites. There in the whipped cream is a hair...a pubic hair.

The complete shame is that all the rest was 5 star. So much work and expertise went into it, but still there is that hair...that damn single hair... there forever. It would reflect on the whole meal.

If I gave this game a 9.0 I could not without a clear warning about the ending....9.0 before the ending....6.0 after the ending. I still would suggest people not miss it.

In retrospect I guess I'd give ME1 an 8.5 and ME2 and 3 solid 10s. They were both amazing games.

The original Mass Effect is still one of my favourite games of all time.

Mass Effect 3 was an interesting experience. It was more shooter than RPG, and I miss so many of the elements which made the series special to me. The ending was a disappointment and the writing in general was (in my opinion) worse than the previous installments.

So, I didn't like the gameplay as much as before through lack of RPG elements, and I didn't like the characters or story as much as what I have previous games. All in all I'd personally give it a 6/10. Not a total disaster but a solid let down.

I think the same, except my score pre-ending was pretty low because I hated some of the gameplay tweaks while fighting.

I gave ME:3 a 3 rating because I don't tolerate sub-standard narratives. I don't care about graphics, textures, models, music, DLC, multiplayer, or any of that other fluff you're apparently so enamored with.

oh boy, you must have a finely refined taste then because if anything, mass effect series is all about narrative.
what rpg game would you consider to have a better narrative ? i really cant remember single one that beats me 1 - 2 -3.

if i have to give this game a rating, it would be a 5 /10. not only because of the terrible ending, no. because:

no neutral option in the speech wheel
some graphical downgrade
graphic glitches
some of your decisions dint matter or got ignored
cant holster weapon anymore
has MP, which i think ignored the SP
MP is required to have full EMS
the ending


the whole game just gives me the feeling i dont have that much control over my character as i had in previous games. thats why i dont feel like playing it again.

if i have to rate the other 2 games:

ME1= 9/10
ME2= 9/10

+strong story,
+seamless world,
-copy/paste locations for sidequests,

ME2: 8
+extremely good character interaction
+good main plot, even if it didn't get enough screen time
-small levels make you feel constrained and lose your sense of place.
-simplified equipment and game-y power mechanics.
-lore inconsistencies
-too many characters make the main plot feel inconsequential

ME3: 7
+extremely good and well-written subplots (Tuchanka and Rannoch)
+very balanced equipment/power/combat system
-too streamlined character interaction with not enough options.
-noticeable fall in overall quality in the last third of the game
-gross lore inconsistencies
-soul-crushingly depressing ending

Without the ending, ME3 would have been an 8. And note that I'd only give a 10 to games which are near-perfect. I think that would be reserved for one or two in my personal history.

For my taste, ME3 is a really good game with a really bad ending. Overall I think it deserves a 7/10.

Your comment here is the obvious troll, you got that right.

People got a right to have their opinion, and if their opinion is that the game deserves a low score, than that is their opinion and you can't change it, no matter how much you cry about it.

3.8 is undeserved, provided we judge only ME3.
What about Origin? What about overpriced Day 1 DLC (Kasumi was 560 MS points if my memory serves well, but Javik is 800..). What about all those pre-launch lies? What about MP and its integration into SP (readiness)? What about "artistic integrity"? What about apps to increase readiness? ...

Players are simply striking back. The only way they can do that is downrate the game. It's not a correct way how to voice their displeasure, but really, I can't blame them.

ME3 stands solidly around 70-80 out of 100 for me, provided I won't count things mentioned above. When I count even that, it's 55/100.

The game was simply not ready and it shows. Its problems must not be overlooked. In a perfect world, they should be fixed. ME3 Editor's Cut or Enhanced edition, if you will.

We won't get that. SP is dead for many fans. I personally finished ME3 only once. It took me 20 hours and I had around 3400 EMS with 50% readiness. That was two days after Europian launch. I played the last mission around 4 in the morning.

I was dissappointed. First I thought it was a manipulation played by Harbinger. Then I got "Buy moar DLC"... Yeah.. no.

I didn't rate the game in that time. My dissappointment would show in the score. I am pretty sure there are people who were affected more than me and stormed Metacritic. And again, I don't blame them.

I can give you a list of reasons why ME3 is inferior to ME2 and even ME1, but only if you are interested...
