I don't know why people get wound up about the only 1 hub world thing. ME 1 was really no different (feros and noveria each only had one store), so ME 1's only true hub was the citadel yet people I guess won't excuse it in ME 3 because there is a 3 in the title.
One hub world, if well done, isn't the problem. The problem is more that with ME1 you could always discover something new on the Citadel, some sidequest that went beyond "fetch me this or that" and encounters that required your input instead of take side A or B while running by.
Sure, there are a few of these quests in ME3, but emphasis on "few".
Oh, and then, because players are imbeciles with short attention spans in the developers minds, you can fire up your map and see exactly with which object you have to interact to fulfill that demand. If you're bright enough to get the message about terminals that haven't been visible before that is. And of course if you're actually literate. Which, obviously, isn't a given either when it comes to game development.
