No it doesn't deserve that rating, but Mass Effect 3 was my lowest rated in the series and not because of the ending. I gave Mass Effect 1 a 8.8, Mass Effect 2 a 9.0, and Mass Effect 3 a 8.5.

It sure does deserves the rating! BioWare FAILED to appease us fans who worked so hard to achieve the endings we want. But no, we get ABC endings, no alternatives. >:-[

As a fan of the first two games, I am too biased against it to give it a fair score as a stand-alone game. This is why I never rate it on game sites. Compared to the first two games it sucks in my opinion. Compared to some random game it's pretty good.

I think 3.8 is a little bit unwarranted in my opinion, but I do understand where it is coming from (customers are angry... more towards Bioware/EA than the game itself I surmise). 

I'd personally give the game between a 7.5 and an 8.5.  Most of the game was pretty good in spite of the ending, and while I totally got bored of multiplayer after a while, it was fun while it lasted.  Didn't seem quite as polished as the previous games in the series, but it was okay in my books.

Superior to what? Pong? I've played second rate RPGs like Divinity 2 which are better than this game. You fail. 0/10

It doesn't deserve that low of a rating.

A 3.8 is a terrible game. A 3.8 is a bug-filled unplayable piece of crap that isn't worth purchasing even if it is on the bargain rack. I don't know that I've ever played a 3.8, but maybe an Activision or Capcom title?

Unfortunately Mass Effect 3 is being overshadowed by it's bad ending and the controversy surrounding it. What is happening is that players are saying, "The ending sucks...therefore 1!!!!!" It is shame in that overall Mass Effect 3 was a good game, and it was really only at the end that it totally unravelled. On the flipside, Bioware and EA still have no one to blame but themselves.

I would give it a 7 rating.

1) The ending of a story has to make sense with the lore the story has built around it and it has had three games to do so, so minus 1 point for that.
2) The listening quests and journal system are horrible so because they did not work this out more another minus 1 point and i'm counting both of them as the same because they are tied together. 3) The love interest romances are a complete joke. Liara has the best of them, Garrus was alright but she got the most work of the interests. Now tali we got a crappy stoke photo which looks horrible and they did a crap job with the Photoshop since they screwed up the fingers and what not. Jacob it seems will leave you regardless, Thane dies, Miranda is barely there and same with Ash. Tali shows up very late in the game and almost no screen time also. The romances showed almost no work compared to Liara. thinking about it i should take off 2 points but im being fair so ill just leave it as 1 point off.

One button to rule them all for game play controls is another point, I get it is on multiple platforms but let us map the revive keys to something else on PC for the love of anything holy, not gonna take away from that one, just a annoying issue.

I think 7 is a fair rating.

The ending, the lack of side quests or a quest-tracking journal are major minuses for me. But I do think Bioware hit the right note in other areas. The writing, voice acting and character development I thought was great for most of the game. And I thought ME3 had the best combat gameplay of the series.

3,8 is a little harsh, but it just indicates how disappointed people were with the game.

The only thing that is better compared to ME2, is that Shepard is a little bit more agile in combat. All other aspects of the game are pretty much worse compared to ME2. ME1 is just a classic, eventhough it had its problems (combat related mostly).

It's this line of thinking that makes me think the people whining are completely absurd. "Game was good but I hated the ending so therefore it sucked."  Game reviews on pubications aren't rated on ending, they are rated on graphics, gameplay, how many bugs it has. I've never seen a game's rating so heavily weighted on the end; it's ridiculous.

Anyways you're probably one of those people who say you arent' going to buy anymore Bioware games.  I'll see you on DA 3.

If the game is so bad; why are you still on the forums?  When FF14 proved a disappointment to me, guess what I and many other people did? WE FREAKING LEFT THE GAME AND DIDN'T BOTHER POSTING ON THE FORUMS BECAUSE WE GENUINELY THOUGHT IT WAS GARBAGE.

Since you and your fellow whiners are still on the boards, it proves that you did enjoy the game. Now either quit for good for or just shutup and play the game.

I think it's more of a statement than a actual ranking. People aren't happy and they wanted Bioware to know about it.

How does being on the forums proved I enjoyed the game? Your logic doesn't make any sense in the slightest. I'm here because i feel like it, and have the right to be. oh and i'm banned off the Bethesda forums. 

And sorry you thought it was garbage and did'nt go on the forums? I have a  lot of time invested into this series, and have every right to come here and say how much garbage it is if I want?

People seem to think I support it with 0 and 1s. No, I do not. I know you weren't quoting me, but you're jst a good person to work off of. However, I do not agree with giving it perfect scores like Game Informer and **** because herp derp it's a triple A Bioware title herp. If any other series made this exact game, and wasnt under a huge brand, it wouldve been given a 6-7.
