7.0 with ending, 8.0 without. Sure, the game is good and has it's moments, but it needed polishing as well as another half year or so of development. It certainly didn't deserve the "75 PERFECT SCORES!!!" EA bought.

I was giving ME3 a 9.9 until Thesia. (how does the most advanced species get wiped out so quickly when Earth was hit earlier and harder?)
It dropped to a 9.5.
After the ending its around 8.5 to 8.9.
I was expecting so much more from this game.
Thought the final mission on Earth would be like the suicide mission where we got to arrange how to use our assets for certain sections.
ME1 is still my favorite out of the entire series.

The game felt better in some ways like combat (the combat roll/hop/etc), the higher level and more power options, and I even liked the ships layout better. However, everything else was kind of a let down. The game is way too short in my book. Even without the DLC part 2 was a lot longer then part 3. I paid 20 bucks for part 2, and got a lot more out of it. I sort of wish I would have waited on this one in some ways, however multiplayer has helped a lot in keeping the game alive for me. It is a shame however how little there was of the single player. I read somewhere they had less party members so they storyline for each would be deeper or something...however this certainly hasn't been the case. In the previous game all 10 (or 12 if you had the dlc ones) characters had their own quests, multiple conversation threads, and just over all a lot more character development. I don't really know how they managed to half the cast, and still couldn't even manage to do them justice.

4/10 is enough for ME3.

Then you review bomb

It deserves a 9 even with the ending.

I'm in complete awe that people can say this with a straight face.

You're telling me a linear corridor shooter with a ultra-weak leveling system and an ultra-weak mod system,  whose "Quests" are almost all fetch quests,  with a story so weak that it reuses the same plot point 4 times and every mission ends with a cameo of someone from the first two games is one of the greatest games ever?

Because if you're honestly making that claim,  this is either the first game you've ever played,  or you spend way too much time believing what "Gaming Journalists" wrote.

Because honestly,  10 years ago when Gaming Journalists actually reviewed games and had integrity,  the game would've received a 5 or 6 out of 10 from every reviewer.  Seriously,  the fetch quests and the weak narrative alone would've been sufficient to get it a mid-range score,  before we even looked at how borked the rest of the game is.

Yes,  the game had some flashes of brilliance,  but those were few and far between.

i have such conflicting feelings that a 5 would seem about balanced.....i WANT SO MUCH to love me3, and it is good, a worthy conclusion, but alas the actual conclusion is ****, so.....see what i mean....in the end id say 7.5 all things considered, and thats factoring in guarded optimism for ec

Without the ending, I'd give the game a 6/10 with points taken for a large amount of auto dialogue, paid day one DLC, odd quest system, a terrible journal, Kai Leng being the least impressive villain ever, and having to restart some missions multiple times due to bugs.

With the ending, I'd give it a -17/10 for managing to retroactively ruin my enjoyment for the previous two games.

This game's story has bigger problems than its mission structure.

I agree with the rating. People act as if the endings are all that's wrong. How about another big one, the amount of auto dialogue on rpg mode? The terrible questing system? Linearity? The lack of consequences to choices from previous games?

Its an embarrassment to be a gamer sometimes when people prefer ME2 over ME3 or ME1.

I don't understand this bizarre attitude.
All quests/missions are better in ME2(there were no quests in ME3, eavesdropping and scanning to complete something is idiotic), character development/dialogs are better in ME2, animations are far better in ME2 and ME1. Complete irrelevance of dialog options compared to ME1 and ME2.

how is all this not obvious to you?

True, everyone has different tastes so it should not come as a surprise that some people are going to love something that you don't and hate someting that you love.

And in my opinion ME2 is the best game in the ME Trilogy by quite a large margin. ME3 had the potential to be the best game out of all 3 but there is someting about the way the game flows that I don't like ( the main quest is okay minus the crappy intro and the last level  but the all the sidequests suck ), the game also has a lot of minor flaws which unfortuntely do add up.

LOl me3  had any thing but a weak narative, the story telling  is the best in the serise.

most rpg side quests usualy devolve into "fetch quests" and thing  you bs  is  forggeting things like aria's quest, the ardat yakshi sanctuary, the decision to kill the alliance traitor and so many others.

If the game is so bad; why are you still on the forums?  When FF14 proved a disappointment to me, guess what I and many other people did? WE FREAKING LEFT THE GAME AND DIDN'T BOTHER POSTING ON THE FORUMS BECAUSE WE GENUINELY THOUGHT IT WAS GARBAGE.

Since you and your fellow whiners are still on the boards, it proves that you did enjoy the game. Now either quit for good for or just shutup and play the game.

With flawed logic like that, I can suddenly understand why you might rate the game high...

Doesn't mean it deserves anything than what it got, though.

Edit: Crappy forum software messing up the quotes. :pinched:

ME3 is a 8 for me based on the scale given by most review sites, where a 5 is an unplayable game and a 7 is average. Could have been a 9 if it wasnt for the ending, close to a 10 if they got rid of the minor problems that could be easily overlooked when enjoying what the game got right.

Its a 6 for me on a true rating scale with 5 being an average and enjoyable game. It could easily have been an 8-9 on this scale with the same changes listed in the gaming site score.

The only "bad" thing (if bad at all ;)), is the ending. And not even that bothers me for specific reasons.

So I'd give the whole trilogy a 10/10, because no other game(s) ever consumed me with its stories.

If only that were true. I'd probably play the single-player more. As it is though, I find myself spending more time with the multiplayer.
