I mean, is there a reason they decided to take the time to model her face in the game? Between her crappy voice acting and the fact she works for IGN did they think fans would like her replacing Emily Wong?

I just can't think of any reason why Bioware thought it would be a good idea. They could have used that development time to make a decent ending or model Tali's face in-game instead.

Nope. It's just the most ridiculous brainwave BW had when they made ME3...
Oh wait, it isn't even the worst. <_<

Because, as has been the case throughout history, licking hardware is a guaranteed shortcut for women to get ahead in their career.

Well, maybe there were some resources availabe during the production process and instead of spending them on creating an acceptable ending, taking care of important plot points like the Rachni or the Collector base or at least fixing some of the bigger bugs and glitches, BW decided it would be a good idea to hand out a corporate handshake to IGN by creating a character model that looks like a molten candle and is blessed with Chobot's terrible voice acting...

Don't see how her minuscule role could really have affected how you feel about the game, hell you can choose not to have her all together

You don't see the development resources spent on her that could've been used on something more useful?

The problem is that Chobot/Allers symbolizes practically everything that's wrong with BioWare these days...

They actually seem to reference this when she's talking to her camera at one point.  She talks about how turians are war nerds, and as such loyal viewers, but they write the creepiest fan mail.

I would be pretty neutral about it.. If they prioritize on Tali's face first (rendered in game)
And this is coming from a non Talimancer.

Not really.  The amount of resources spent to construct Diana Allers would have been a drip in the bucket of resources needed for other things.  Character design is a fairly specialized area... it's not like those people could have been reassigned to say... a final boss fight or to ending cinematics or programming.

I suppose it could be argued that those people could have been assigned to rendering Tali's face in game... but even then, I'm not certain that would be an entirely accurate criticism either.

Umm...principle? She wasn't an actor being brought in to act. She was a "news personality" (though gaming doesn't really have reputable news sources) that was brought in for the explicit purpose of giving nerds a hard-on. IGN, in turn, took their defense of ME3 far beyond the reasonable as they now have a vested interest in keeping the game afloat. Some people who never heard of Chobot before this, like myself, might search out who she is and stumble across IGN in the process, giving them a few more dollars in advertizing page views.

It's like if Mit Romney announced he would be giving Megan Kelly a cabinent position just so some people might vote for him because she's attractive and to attain FoxNews' steadfast support regardless of what he does.

So that's why IGN said ME3 was a "satsfying ending" to the franchise...

Yes, it's how it works in modern gaming world. It's not a bribes or anything like that, this I can 100% assure you of.
They just friends, who mutually avoid upsetting each other. Some are better friends than others.

I doubt I'd romance Tali even if FemSheps could, but even I would've liked to have seen that.
Her model is exactly the same as ME2's, and essentially similar to ME1's. Showing her face would've been ideal at this point. Hell they could've had Legion copy itself into her suit, upgrade her immune system enough to keep her helmet off permanently.

Still, disgruntled publishers do pull their ads if they get unfavourable reviews.
