Didn't even see her on my first playthrough but having watched YouTube videos there's no way I'm interacting with that character; Chobot is an awful voice actress.

I didn't even know who Chobot was until I came to the BSN. Granted, I don't think her voice acting is very good, and the best part of the character is the email you get from her right before th end, but I have no real problem with Allers.

Exactly the average shmuch that plays the game and doesn't  go on internet forums to **** about everything under the sun isn't going to know or care who the va is of a minor character and Allers is a minor character tucked away in Zaeed's old quarters.  Allers doesn't even need to be taken aboard the Normandy she is completely optional yet some people have really ****ed about her like she changes the whole game or something.

What?  You mean the faulty assumption that somehow Allers character greviously stole resources that could have been put into other things?

No, I actually meant BioWare droning all day long about their Artistic Integrity, yet they didn't hesitate to kill of a well known in-universe character (via twitter!) and replaced her with a painfully obvious corporate handshake that couldn't do a good voice acting job if her life depended on it.

Again, it's not a faulty assumption. The resources that were put into developing her character could have been used on something else the fans really wanted, like Tali's face. Was there anybody clamoring for having Chobot in ME3? I don't think so. Were fans waiting for the reveal of Tali's face, especially after the disappointment in ME2? Yes. I'm not a Talimancer but I totally understand people who were upset by getting a Photoshopped stock image and at the same time getting an unnecessary and basically useless new character.

If we had received the kind of game BW promised much less people would be upset by these kinds of things.

Again, it's not a faulty assumption. The resources that were put into developing her character could have been used on something else the fans really wanted, like Tali's face. People would have whined about Tali's face no matter what they did with it.  It was inevitable.  And sorry but Aller's character has nothing to do with Tali's face.  You might as well blame Garrus's scars for Tali's picture while you are at it.

We were talking about resources. If you have a set amount of time to spend on a character, a lot of fans would have preferred if BW had spent that time on Tali's face, and not on Chobot. And I think there would have been less "whining" about Tali's face if BW had actually put an effort into it.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why. I'm sure she's a nice person, but I've never actually watched the IGN newslines, so I'd never know.

Trying to get good reviews from IGN? It's standard advertising principle. Don't know really.
