Anyone have a guess when I might be able to play ME3 on my PS3 without it ruining the console. Surely they can't leave it this way.

I'm pretty sure it won't ruin the console anymore than any other disc-based game without an install function...

Look into it, LOTS of games lack an install function. I wouldn't worry about it.

I ask because there seems to be many posts that say it will. I asked in the patch thread if the game was safe to play and got zero replies saying it was. The replies were of the guarantee it will crash type.

I guess I am just looking for an official it is safe to play this game reply.

I'm afraid to say you will probably not be getting any message of that nature of any official capacity. Promises tend to imply responsibility or worse liability. I have to say you take a risk with your system by playing any number of games that have hard freezes, but to say it would kill your system or not is anyone's guess. Systems sometimes die. My opinion on things like this is to play the games that have the least issues, and of course at the end of the day if I want to play something bad enough I do it anyway. What's the point of having something if you are afraid to use it?

In all the games I've played both single player and mp on ME3 I've only had one crash that resulted in a complete reset. I haven't had any major issues with it either.

That is good to hear. I have been scared as hell to play it on the PS3

Freezing has occured to me after long periods of play time, but not once has it killed my PS3. My advice is to buy the PSN/digital version if you can. According to some people having the game completely on the harddrive minimizes freezing.

I've only had to hard reset my PS3 a few times since the game was released. Since patches have been released, the problem seems to have subsided... mostly. But there are people who are still experiencing problems.

I haven't had any serious lockups since the last patch. And if it should freeze I just pop the disc out- I don't have to completely reset the console. And I've never had it freeze like that in MP- only Single player for me.

So, ejecting the disc on freezing should prevent corruption of the filesystem?

I guess I will give it a shot.
