But the idea of a post like this -is- to guide players that they are not ready for gold.
Granted, people don't seem to take the tongue in cheek approach too kindly, but they just respond with "omg fu you elitist dick!!!" when constructive opinions are formed on here, so why would having to explain to them all individually in the lobby prove any better?

There's nothing constructive about your OP. If you think he gives a rats ass about anything other than bragging, then you should read this thread: http://social.biowar...ndex/12028271/1

Your man is the first poster who takes a dump on the OP of that thread who posted about having a good silver match.

My my my.

Actually, threads like these could be used to come up with answers too. I like this one:

"I think a good way would be that you cant play gold until you extracted on bronze x amount of times, and silver x amount of time. Or you cant play gold until you have amassed a total score of something like 1,000,000 points."

You could also do it by N7 rating, literally, like Bronze until N10 and Silver until N50.

If youre a good player, please stop telling poor players to give gold a go. If you really want to train them up then play a private game.

Thank you

You realise that you too, can play a private game right?

Hell if anything, the elitist is the one who has more opportunity and reason to run nothing but private matches. They've played longer, as such should have more people on their friends list with which to play privately. Some nooblet starting out has no choice but to play publically.

You bet.
You want people to take you seriously, but then act the complete hyprocrite.

So, what we can extrapolate is: you want people to play silver and bronze, yet you also want to look down on them? You also want people to take your "advice" seriously, as a leader, yet you mock those you wish to lead.
hmm

He's way too elite for that, sweetie. Private games are so 2002.

Well your goal here is tremendously short sighted then. Everyone who plays MP doesn't post here, and the only thing topics like this can achieve is the creation of a **** storm amongst the people that do. The entire community that plays MP isn't going to follow your rules and you're always going to enter public gold lobbies that have less skilled players in them. You can easily avoid this entire situation if you start private games amongst your friends who you know are your skill level. If you're having trouble finding friends to play with then just start a thread for all people  who consider themselves elite to post their gamer tags. Then you can all hang out together safe in the knowledge that no noobs are going to spoil your game.

My goal is just to get these internet white knights defending scrubs joining gold matches off their high white horse.
I doubt half the people here critising the op of being an elitist even have considerably more patience for bad players in their gold matches any more than he does.

LOL

Please tell me youre joking.

I only want bad players to play silver and bronze until theyre skilled enough to move up to gold. More capable players in gold is always good.

Why are you calling me a leader? Im not the new messiah!

Yeah, pretty much what SMichelle has said.

Who are you to decide who has the pleasure of playing with you? It's a public game when you host or join a public lobby. If you don't like it, move along. It really is as simple as that.

If someone is holding the team back and causing wipes, I have -every- right to decide whether or not they are ready for gold, thank you.

No you don't, you have every right to either vote to kick or leave the lobby your self but deciding how other people can play their own game? come on man, not even you can be that delusional

Yeah no kidding.

Problem is you want to tell other people how to play.

You only have control over yourself, so why don't you do something that will get you results?

I'll even throw out a suggestion because I'm a helper...like gather up all your supporters on this thread into a team and go play some gold?

The title of this thread is 'I'll stop being elitist when you stop sucking....', so i think it's safe to say that Bamford made this thread with the intent purpose of having people come in and criticise him, but i get what you're saying. It is annoying when you enter a public gold match and see players with really low rankings and terrible weapons, but it is so easily avoidable if you play private matches. If you recognise that there is nothing you can do about less skilled players being in gold and simply start your own games instead, then you avoid this problem altogther.

Love how people are trying to act like internet white knights on these forums.
Let's stick you in a gold group of level 4 human vanguards nova spamming the banshees and infiltrators with smg's and avengers and see how patient you are then.

Been there done that and i did it while playing a human soldier with the avenger of course cause that's the only AR i use.Image IPB

Normal isnt perfect, but its a hell of a lot better then this weekend.

And thanks to freedom of speech, I -could- call every person I meet a douchebag and no one has any actual right to tell me not to do so otherwise. But I don't out of courtesy.
There's a quintessential difference between telling and advising.
If you get kicked from a gold game, stop posting on the forums QQ'ing about it and calling other players elitist.
This is exactly what this thread was a response to.

Because the thread was a direct response to some scrub posting a thread called "Stop being an elitist "&(%$".
So it was clearly intended to be ironic.

I don't see the similarities at all, you have every right to say they are not ready but i still don't see what gives you the right to make that choice for them like your endless whining implies you think.

And by all mean don't be courtious go out and call random people douchebags for a day and see how that works out for you

I'm pretty sure I didn't at any point threaten go around anyones house and point a gun at their head and force them to stop playing gold.

It would likely involve the same outcome as some scrub expecting to join a gold game.
Getting kicked. There's your similarity.

Well considering how aggressively you and your fellow elites have been deabting in here, i doubt this thread was simply an ironic gesture. You guys are acting like the Ayn Rand's of the Mass Effect Universe. You want to be able to achieve your full glorius potential but these low life commoners keep dragging you down. It's so tragic. So my advice to you would be to pull an Atlas Shrugged and leave the Public forums (society) and go off with your fellow elites into your own private matches.

Not what you said, you said you don't out of couresy, obviously there's some fear of the consequenses that's stopping you from doing so. So which one is it, you're such a nice guy or you fear the consequenses?

Terribly hyperbolic. If people stopped spouting such absolute nonsense on here just to act like internet white knights, there wouldn't be such a heated debate about this.
"everyone has a right to play gold!" Yes, they do. When they're good and ready. If you can't even be bothered learning to play first, please explain why they deserve to play in gold with players who put effort in?
You want to play gold? Play with friends.
Good and ex[erienced players shouldn't be the ones punished and scrutinised for playing at their respective difficulty.
