Getting kicked. There's your similarity.

Not what you said, you said you don't out of couresy, obviously there's some fear of the consequenses that's stopping you from doing so. So which one is it, you're such a nice guy or you fear the consequenses?

I'm a nice guy. The point is, my right to do so is there.
Same reason I don't go straight into silver or gold with a character I've just promoted. I don't expect to have to be carried because I want a quick boost, because I have a bit of respect for other players.

"everyone has a right to play gold!" Yes, they do. When they're good and ready. If you can't even be bothered learning to play first, please explain why they deserve to play in gold with players who put effort in?

Because they bought the game, they have the right to play it, pretty simple actually.

You want to play gold? Play with friends.
Good and ex[erienced players shouldn't be the ones punished and scrutinised for playing at their respective difficulty.

How about you focus on thing YOU have control over? You can kick the odd player, if grouped with like-minded individuals, you can create private game - so why the need for topics like that? You're the one with demands, not those random "scrubs", so it is on you to play private games. If you want to impose additional restrictions that aren't forced by EULA or game mechanics, you can't really except other people to follow them. Not many people reading this are likely to follow, and the absolute majority aren't even reading those boards.

Because the thread was a direct response to some scrub posting a thread called "Stop being an elitist ******".
So it was clearly intended to be ironic.

Well considering how aggressively you and your fellow elites have been deabting in here, i doubt this thread was simply an ironic gesture. You guys are acting like the Ayn Rand's of the Mass Effect Universe. You want to be able to achieve your full glorius potential but these low life commoners keep dragging you down. It's so tragic. So my advice to you would be to pull an Atlas Shrugged and leave the Public forums (society) and go off with your fellow elites into your own private matches.

Terribly hyperbolic. If people stopped spouting such absolute nonsense on here just to act like internet white knights, there wouldn't be such a heated debate about this.

Everyone has a right to play gold because they brought the game and can play it however they want. You can't tell people how to play their game, that's just nonsense. What you seem to fail to realise is that your arguing for something that will never happen. There will never be a time when only gold level players will be in public gold matches, you will always have people who aren't that level in the lobbies. So you easily avoid the issue by avoiding the public lobbies. I don't understand what you think you're achieving by attacking the community members who want to help level up the players you think drag you down.

I'm not telling people how to play the game. I'm telling them how they quite blatently -should- be playing the game if they had a shred of common sense.

Well if that's the case then i'm going to tell you how you 'should' be playing the game if you had a shred of common sense. Start a private match, invite your friends (even if it's only one or two other people you can at least remove lower skilled people from the lobby), and play the game.

Because expecting players to have the decency to stick to their respective difficulty setting, and not wanting to constantly waste time wiping because people blatently expect to be boosted, makes someone a terrible person.
Nice logic. If I'm a bad person, you sir, you need to crawl out of your own arse.

I'm saying that just because they can, doesn't mean they should. And they should certainly stop crying on the forums over being kicked from gold games because they're too stupid than to know better than to try lobby up in the first place.

I'm allowed to decide how they -should- play their own game. And I'm perfectly within my right to tell them that.
I'm perfectly within my right not to play with people playing a difficulty setting they are simply not competent enough for.

You're right. Lets let scrubs take over the public lobby, and then there won't be a single decent player left to carry them.

Play private with friends (i'm sure you have lots) and you'll get exactly the games you want to play.

Public lobbies are public anyone can play, that's kinda the point

Or people could play the game the way it was blatently designed, make some effort first in bronze and silver, so I shouldn't have to. ^_^
Yeah, actually having to make a little effort in this game and not jump straight in at the deep end. Life is so cruel.

I used to play the old Final Fantasy XI MMO and there was this whole measurable concept about earning the most EXP possible per hour, and how to spec your party, which roles to use for which areas/mobs, etc. It got to the point where the game was no fun because either:

1. Your party was spec'd 100% properly and you would be staring at the 1000th same mob dying for hours because heaven forbid you change up the location or playstyle and risk "screwing over" your party's EXP gain.

OR 2. You wait at the waypoint for all freaking day because your party refused to go out and farm unless specific roles were filled according to the "standard" for maximum EXP gain. They would literally prefer to stand still and earn nothing than go out and play outside of the accepted standard and earn SOMETHING.

ME3 multiplayer is starting to remind me of that.

I'm playing ME3 multiplayer to have fun playing a videogame. I'm going to equip my Krogan Sentinel with a Widow and I don't care how much you think I'm an idiot, I'm going to beat you in headshots and I'm going to enjoy playing the game.

The kick button is there for a legit reason. If someone is taking too long or is afk, majority rules and you get kicked. If you cost the team an objective or were seen running around in crowds of mobs shooting at the ceiling or hiding in an irrelevant corner of the map or shouting slurs over your mic, majority rules and you get kicked.

If you're trying to spec your team for a pure biotic run against reapers IN A PUBLIC LOBBY and you are only getting people who want to play as geth, then you have a choice. You can either play lobby roulette and hope the next guy/gal has a spec you want, or you can start the mission.

Have fun in the lobby, I'm gonna go have fun in the mission.
