You're right. Lets let scrubs take over the public lobby, and then there won't be a single decent player left to carry them.

Play private with friends (i'm sure you have lots) and you'll get exactly the games you want to play.

Public lobbies are public

Or people could play the game the way it was blatently designed, make some effort first in bronze and silver first, so I shouldn't have to. ^_^
Yeah, actually having to make a little effort in this game and not jump straight in at the deep end. Life is so cruel.

I don't really care if people do that, if N7 level 1 novagaurds wanna play gold then more power to then i'm not going to waste my time playing with them or crying about it. I am mature enough to realize that if i want to play a game a certain way then i have to find likeminded people to do it, the world will not conform to my preferences

I used to play the old Final Fantasy XI MMO and there was this whole measurable concept about earning the most EXP possible per hour, and how to spec your party, which roles to use for which areas/mobs, etc. It got to the point where the game was no fun because either:

1. Your party was spec'd 100% properly and you would be staring at the 1000th same mob dying for hours because heaven forbid you change up the location or playstyle and risk "screwing over" your party's EXP gain.

OR 2. You wait at the waypoint for all freaking day because your party refused to go out and farm unless specific roles were filled according to the "standard" for maximum EXP gain. They would literally prefer to stand still and earn nothing than go out and play outside of the accepted standard and earn SOMETHING.

ME3 multiplayer is starting to remind me of that.

I'm playing ME3 multiplayer to have fun playing a videogame. I'm going to equip my Krogan Sentinel with a Widow and I don't care how much you think I'm an idiot, I'm going to beat you in headshots and I'm going to enjoy playing the game.

The kick button is there for a legit reason. If someone is taking too long or is afk, majority rules and you get kicked. If you cost the team an objective or were seen running around in crowds of mobs shooting at the ceiling or hiding in an irrelevant corner of the map or shouting slurs over your mic, majority rules and you get kicked.

If you're trying to spec your team for a pure biotic run against reapers IN A PUBLIC LOBBY and you are only getting people who want to play as geth, then you have a choice. You can either play lobby roulette and hope the next guy/gal has a spec you want, or you can start the mission.

Have fun in the lobby, I'm gonna go have fun in the mission.

Optimal groups and groups that have 0 chance of winning because they're skipping silver are not the same thing.

If you kick someone it's you being a dick.
If you play private game it's your fault the other teams loose.
If you don't mentor and basicly carry your teams then you're being an elitist dick.

1. No it's not. If someone should blatently not be in the lobby and they will be a liability, why shouldn't they be kicked?
2. Not everyone can play private games on demand. Also, *lose.
3. Mentor players? Every single ****ing game? In a difficulty setting for people who should not even need mentoring? When half of them refuse to even listen? **** that. That's what silver and bronze are for. I'm not going to teach someone how to play WHILE I'm trying to play and concentrate on more important ****.

I agree with the OP in some respects but the bottom line is play private if you don't want to carry a team or get frustrated.

Side note: This is a co-op game and everbody should be trying their best to win, not just leaving it up to one or two people to win for them. I have seen both high and low N7 people being ***hats, it just doesnt stay in the realm of the elitists. Have a Nice Day :)

I don't think elitism is not wanting to play with people who are unprepared for the difficulty level that they joined. For me, elitism is when one person expects everyone to play a certain way.

The other night, a few friends needed a 4th for a gold match. By round 3 this person was yelling something along lines of "Oh my god! You guys suck! We have to control the spawns! Haven't you ever played this map before?!?" Mind you, we weren't doing poorly when he said that. Each of us was holding our own and communicating fairly well. But the enemies weren't spawning where HE wanted them to, so we all sucked, apparently. THAT is what I'd consider a textbook example of elitism.

Expecting people to do poorly because they have a low N7 level or a bad weapon loadout doesn't make you an elitist. Even giving someone the boot doesn't necessarily make you one. It's thinking you're better than someone without a real reason to that makes one an elitist.

Actually, you should control the spawns.  Doing well in Waves 1-6 means nothing.  Poor tactics show up in the long run.

Ok, errrrrrrrrrm

N7 must be over 1000

Character level must be between 19 and 20

You must only use Asari Adept or Salarian Infiltrator

With a Carnifex or Widow

No consumables before wave 8

Im not gonna revive anyone, my time is too important.

If you dont revive me i will kick you.

If you dont score at least 50,000 i will kick you.

Theres some nice elitist comments for you all to live by.

50k is pretty generous. From my afking experience, I can come back at wave 6 and still rake in at least 90k.

It certainly ain't, but not everybody is willing to waste time on defeats that shouldn't have happened in the first place, specially, people with limited gaming timeframes or other things to do besides gaming. So, games ARE about winning. No one wants to play a game where they lose matches all the time just as nobody likes to play on the losing team. Unless you play to actually lose time and gain nothing out of your session.

Cheers

I guess at N7-1010 I qualify as elite. I'll play with lower levels if they will co-operate and listen/communicate. That's usually all it takes for a decent game. If they just run around like mute idiots and constantly **** up, I will chew them out and never play with them again.
That's fair.

I was playing gold earlier with a friend and a guy whose N7 rank was slightly below 2000 joined (later when I checked the leaderboard it showed him a bit above 250 for global), I said to my friend that he was either going to be amazing or going to be awful. Sure enough at the end of the mission I had more than 2x the score he did, I had about 130k compared to his 56-60k. Reverse elitism ftw

If you want every game to be a carbon copy by controlling spawns, play GGW. Play with your friends. Ask in the lobby if that's the plan. Ask your team if they'd be ok with it (if he had been like "Hey guys, lets control the spawn, two of us here, two there" instead of "AAAARRRGGRR YOU SUCK!!!!", I would have a completely different opinion of him). Don't start a game with randoms and expect them to play exactly the way you'd like. Most of all, don't tell those people they suck for not exploiting the spawn system to make it easier. Maybe if you need to control the spawns that much, you're not as good as you think.

they made it a multiplayer, to enjoy the playing with others.. Ok so there will be someone out there who wont have the same skill and experience in gaming.

But the truth of the fact i find my self liking games where its a team effort.
Someone plays justicar with the bubble shield, another a infiltrator taking care of Indoctrination devices, another is a engineer boosting shields and diverting enemies, whilst a triggerhappy krogan keeps spraying the rest, or a AA explodes the mobs into pieces.
Cooperate, and make a good setup, communicate and give people a chance.
Even the worst of the worst elitist also does mistakes... not as often, but sometimes does.

Im an elitist in one way, but i also provide advice, i provide efficiency and optimalism.. i try to make the best out of what there is.
I've had games with such overpowerd full team of infiltrators, on gold.. that it turned into a contest who could shoot all the geth before they were visible through walls and stuff...
There was no challenge.. no progression of practice.. just simple ownage.
Ok that could also be fun once.. but i'd rather have a few semi noobs, that i can mentor.. and pull of an amazing team effort combo, to do it as a team.
