Same elitists complain about FBWGG farming, and what they don't realize is the moment the farming ends, they'll get a whole ton of people not up to their standards in any/any games instead.
And if you're that good, you should be able to hold up one or two not so stellar players. Oh right, I guess some people don't understand co-op in the least bit!
Elitists are truly insufferable all from their own doing. And nothing stopping you from playing a private game but I suspect the elitist attitude doesn't really win much in the way of friends to play with.

There isnt a system in place for stopping people with low N7s or low level characters playing gold, which is fine. There are plently of good players who level up their characters in gold, if they know they can handle it theres nothing wrong with that.
But people who dont have the experience or skill are still playing gold all the time. Its partly FBWGGs fault, partly the unlock systems fault, and party the fault of people ensuring poor players can play gold if they "keep practicing".
Practice in silver until youre ready for gold and stop making our gold games more of a pain in the arse than they have to be.
So, just to recap.
Please stay out of gold if you dont have the experience and skill to contribute to the teams effort.
If youre a good player, please stop telling poor players to give gold a go. If you really want to train them up then play a private game.

How do you know that the N7 80 guy you just kicked sucks? Maybe he's played GOW Horde on Insane which is a lot harder than Gold in the sense it's 50 freaking rounds as opposed to 11 and you got no powers to spam out every 2 seconds.
You might find that the N7 340 guy with a level 20 GI with Widow X who replaced him in the lobby doesn't know how to play Gold either and gets downed 7 times before Wave 4 ends.
I had a player with an N7 rating of 1700 go down three times on wave 1. On firebase white. Against geth! And he was a salarian infiltrator!
I only have an n7 rating of 180, but I play gold regularely. I don't promote my characters, so my rating stays low.
keep in mind that there are people that have played the campaign on insanity dozens of times and just haven't gotten around to multiplayer yet. Their n7 rating starts low, but they're actually good at the game.
People with multiple accounts could have an n7 rating of 2000 or somethign on one, but just be starting out on the other.
n7 rating is an invalid way of judging people's skill level.
not sure why you said this, because Bamford already said it's invalid...

I know that N7 level and weapon unlocks isnt a good way of telling how skilled a player is. Thats why im asking unskilled players to not attempt gold in the first place.

Firebase Giant vs Reapers on gold...i played with 3 decoys, 2 of them had yet to get to N7 120...
if it wasnt for the usual idiot that runs to the LZ only to get swarmed and killed, we would have gotten full extraction...
it was the most annoying match in my life, but we made it...
i agree with elitism, but i probably wont kick anyone until i see how good they are...you wil lstart seeing the kicking X right after the match...
i had 100k xp points of difference from the guy on 2nd place...it just shows you how bad the match was

Dear Bamford38,
You are not the boss of me. You do not own Mass Effect. If you don't want random people to play in "your" Gold matches, why don't you play a private match? People can play in any type of match they like. If you don't like it, you can leave.
Thank you,
P.S. I haven't played in Gold, and I don't foresse playing in Gold in the future. I play this game for FUN.

This is the crux really.
I see people who can't even play silver properly, then try gold matches.
This deserved pisses off regular gold players, and hence all the auto kicking etc.
However as a mere sub-N200 which poor weapons, but decent skill, it is still insulting to be subjected to homosexual references and kicked on some pre-judged criteria, as happened this afternoon <_<
I think I can carry myself in gold, and I will be 3rd or 4th, but at least not a burden.
Maybe if gold payers could at least give a (polite) reason before kicking people it may make gold players come across less as total dickwad-elitists. Eg: "your weapon choice is poor", or "you appear to only have a weapon III, maybe play more silvers until its VII+". Just as a suggestion?

Or if youve only just bought the game, then ask one of the fine upstanding citizens on here to let you join their private game.
But just stay the hell out of public matches
It seems to me that the simpler, and fairer, solution is for YOU to stay the hell out of public matches, if you can't stand the thought of having to make up for a weak team member.
I do understand your grief about people playing beyond their skill levels, but I would hazard a guess that it is as often a case of having the search criteria set to random difficulty level, by default, as not.

This. These gold elitists fail to take into account a gamers background. 11 waves of Gears horde on insane will teach you more about survival in a cover based shooter than mass effect gold ever will. Finnish 50 and you will be able to shoot the hair of a Banshees nipple without breaking sweat

I understand new players do that. Its obvious when an N7 level 5, level 5 soldier joins, but they either notice straight away and leave, or they leave after you tell them it might be too difficult.
Its the people who say nothing, even after you inform them over the mic. Granted they could be in a party and didnt hear. But im sick of giving people the benefit of the doubt only for them to die continuously, or leave after their first death.

There's a pretty big gap between Silver and Gold. In Silver, you can deactivate the terminals on a first-come-first served-basis much like in Bronze; whilst in Gold the only effective way is to get an Inflitrator to do it whilst everyone else holds position.
The only way you're going to learn to play Gold is by playing it. Even if that means you get downed a lot because you're used to the damage done by enemies in Silver.

I just finished a gold Reaper glacier match where I had to suffer through a vanguard that continuously charged and was ohko'd by banshees and a human engineer that seemed to be trying to do something but was just completely and totally useless.
I'm not an amazing player that can solo gold with one hand but I'm good and I can perform well with a team and even pick up the slack a little. Still doesn't change how annoying it is when people who just clearly aren't able to do the same keep joining.

It's basic risk assessment. Guy shows up to gold underlevel with basic weapons, there's a strong likelihood of him being a new player without much experience. Maybe he's pro, but we don't know that. All we can go by is how he presents himself. Which is why it's important to not go into a gold lobby looking like a complete noob with and underlevel character and underpowered equipment if you really hate the idea that you might get kicked.
There are certain objectively reliable indicators of experience with the game.
N7 80 = this guy hasn't even played each class to 20, nor has he opened enough packs to level his classes via character cards--he's almost assuredly a new player.
N7 120 = this guy has every class at 20, but has never promoted. Probably a decent player who realizes promotion does very little other than serve as a fallback respec card.
Some more subjective indicators:
N7 300 = this guy has promoted quite a bit (each class once?) and spent a fair amount of time with the game. Probably decent.
N7 1500 = this guy spends a LOT of time on the game, BUT he may be a habitual promoter who only farms new characters in bronze. Check his loadout.

^^^This is what people don't understand, and I agree. Although I don't kick, I understand the sentiment. The game is about fun, but if a person don't find it fun playing with people that is not so good then by all means they have the right to kick based on there perceived judgement. Sure we don't have a good criteria to base skills on but we can get a rough estimate from our previous experiences. Just as someone don't find it fun in being kicked, the person that's doing the kicking don't find it fun in giving someone the benefit of the doubt and it coming back to bite them.

I think Marshalleck hit it pretty much on the ball here. I agree with all of this.
Regarding 120-300... a lot of players who've been around since the beginning but don't find promoting worthwhile are usually a bit higher than 120 because they promoted for the weekend event, then never again (or just promoted once or twice to see what it did).

I haven't noticed any change in the difficulty.
