Yeah, pretty much what SMichelle has said.

Who are you to decide who has the pleasure of playing with you? It's a public game when you host or join a public lobby. If you don't like it, move along. It really is as simple as that.

Leave the lobby if you see any puppets, or morons or scrubs, or noobs. If that's wasting too much time, then host your private match. Save yourself some existential anguish and anger and frustration over a video game. Lower your blood pressure. No need to get so upset.

If someone is holding the team back and causing wipes, I have -every- right to decide whether or not they are ready for gold, thank you.

And that gives you an elevated position to lord over the people you deem unworthy? This is an issue about respect for fellow players, not your ego. If it bothers you that much that you get your knickers in a twist then leave the lobby. Multiplayer isn't just about a single player or even winning for that matter. You might not enjoy losing but that "scrub" on the other end might be having fun - the same might be said of the other 2 players in the lobby. It is not just about you and your preferences. It's mob rule whether you like it or not. If the other players in the lobby are happy and you are not, then just pick up the pieces and move on. No need to have a tantrum about it and post rage threads on the forum.

If I end up with a poor team, I'll see the round through and if possible use some consumables to salvage it. Once the round is over I'll leave the lobby.

If the rest of us can manage it, why can't you?

I don't agree 100% with OP but the guy got at point.

If a lesser experienced guy shows up in gold, without mic, without knowing basic tactics, then why should I bring him?

These forums are full of threads with tips and tactics for any gold match, theorycrafting etc.

So if a low N7 lvl guy with low lvl guns entered my gold lobby and said "I read about gold matches on the forums and think I know what to do but haven't tried it yet" Then sure I will gladly bring you.

But that's not how things go down. Low N7 lvl guys enter the lobby silent as the grave with bad loadout. Sorry but i'm not going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I've failed too many matches because of people not knowing what they're doing. It sucks to loose and I don't find it fun.

I give him the benefit of a doubt. Maybe he doesn't understand just what "elitism" is and why it's bad in 100% of situations.

Yep...

I just can't help but think but this some ppl on ME3 act like this regarding MP...  hilarious....

Are you actually telling people what to do with their time on Mass Effect 3? Okay, you claim that you're good at the game but that does not give you the right to dictate anyone's actions. Besides, it's not going to help your situation. I seriously doubt that anyone purchases a game with the intentions of being told what to do. Have you ever thought of just finding some people with your type of mindset and play in a private match with them? After reading some of comments on these forums, they should not be hard too hard to find.

Now you're getting it. I shouldn't have to leave lobby after lobby. Respect for players can go both ways. These idiots should go back to bronze or silver and have fun there, and not expect to be carried because they can't be bothered learning the basics in bronze and silver first.
And I'm hardly raging. I just don't understand how so many players can fail to realise they are not ready for gold yet.
The only rage here seems to be from butt hurt baddies who seem to think they're owed victories in gold with out pulling their weight.

It's his right to do what he finds the most fun. I don't give much for this "take one for the team" attitude. It's way more fun for ME to play with people who know what they are doing. Much less stressing. What's the point in playing a game if you're not having fun?

If you wanna give all you money to charity then fine good for you, but don't come pointing fingers and tell other people what to think.

I wasn't being specific about the rage part. I see your point and respect your decision even if I do not agree with it. What I'm trying to say is that sometimes you've just got to move on. The lobby system is far from perfect. Usually I'd go with whoever is the host has the final say in who stays and who goes, but it doesn't really apply well with what we've been given. This game badly needs a server browser.

I'm not disputing that. The solution to that problem is, as many others have pointed out, to host a private lobby. Whenever you join or create a public lobby you accept the risk that you're going to find people who are not as good as yourself. You can try to vote kick them but if that fails then just leave the lobby.

But you can't expect everyone to have friends who enjoy ME MP, let alone always have a decent group ready online when it's conveniant.
If players find bronze too easy, move on to silver. If silver becomes easy and you're finding your prefered class comfortable to play with, (and of course your weapon load out is at least semi-reasonable. A standard weapon at X at least, or a gold weapon that suits your class at rank 1 maybe) then you're ready to try gold. If you jump straight to gold when silver still presents a fair challenge, then they have no right to complain that these so called "elitist" players are getting frustrated with them costing them credits and equipment. They must have surely had some degree of knowledge as to what they were letting themselves in for? If they insist on jumping in at the deep end and giving them selves a good challenge then hats off to them, but they should be the ones making private lobbies. Not the players who are generally suited to gold difficulty.
People seem to assume I'll kick someone because they have an N7 rank at 100 and don't have N7 weapons. Hardly, I'll give most players a chance within reason. It's if they're completely awful and quite literally on the verge of costing us the game by being a liability I'll leave or vote kick after the round is through.
Is a player knowing not constantly goinf lonewolf and messing up the spawn locations at least too much to ask for?

The sheer amount of bad players whining in this thread about "elitism" when really it's just good players that don't like being dragged down is hilarious.

When I join a gold lobby, it's because I would like to play on the hardest difficulty with other skilled players for more credits than I would get in a silver game. Because I'm not good enough myself to solo gold in every situation, I'll kick anyone I feel is going to be a liability to my team. The 20-30 minutes of my time, and rank III equipment are worth more than the 20-30 seconds it would take for the noob to find a new game.

I am a Passive Elitist...

I only kick people when I am in a bad mood and they are totally not even close to being ready for gold regardless of skill level. (Predator III and Avenger II with a level 7 Soldier. No matter how good you are you cannot kill fast enough to beat it in less than 90 minutes.)

I cant be the only person that thinks elitism is only brought on by people attempting gold when theyre not ready.

I appreciate there are people on this forum that dedicate themselves to helping poor players in gold matches. But i dont see why the rest of us should have to put up with the constant slew of uncapable players that are pouring into gold all the time, and not just during operation weekends.

There isnt a system in place for stopping people with low N7s or low level characters playing gold, which is fine. There are plently of good players who level up their characters in gold, if they know they can handle it theres nothing wrong with that.
But people who dont have the experience or skill are still playing gold all the time. Its partly FBWGGs fault, partly the unlock systems fault, and party the fault of people ensuring poor players can play gold if they "keep practicing".
Practice in silver until youre ready for gold and stop making our gold games more of a pain in the arse than they have to be.

So, just to recap.

Please stay out of gold if you dont have the experience and skill to contribute to the teams effort.

If youre a good player, please stop telling poor players to give gold a go. If you really want to train them up then play a private game.

Thank you

I'm with you mate. All the degenerates joining gold lobbys is just annoying and frustrating. If you're an idiot, stay away for **** sake. Once a level 5 Asari Vanguard joined my lobby. She was carrying a sniper rifle and shotgun................. I know there's an abbundance of retards in this world, but use your brain? Maybe? Just a thought? Assuming your brain is located in your skull and not your rectum, you would understand that you're just wasting people's time when you're trying to join a gold lobby while you still suck massive dick at the game.

What's worse is that, sometimes when I'm in a public lobby (hate playing public but oh well..) a low level moron joins and the rest of the team just let's him stay :S I mean, come on, common sense? Whatever happened to reason? KICK THE IDIOT so we can get a lvl 19+. Even that doesn't mean that we'll win the match, good gear can never substitute for a lack of a brain. At least it's not as bad as BF3. Now that game has some real hypnotizingly idiotic people playing it, "I fear for humanity" levl of stupidity. It's scary, knowing that they're actually allowed to drive cars and ****...

At the end of the day, it's not a snobby, "elitist" attitude on our part. It's lack of respect or sheer ignorance on theirs.
You have fun carrying inexperienced players in a setting not designed for them? Good for you, but please, YOU make the private lobbies then.

This is how I judge if someone is ready for Gold.

1. What is their N7 rating? yes it is arbitrary, but it usually is a pretty good gauge of how long they have owned the game.

2. What level equipment are they using. Someone sporting a Katana and Avenger I is a bad sign.

3. What level character are they using. LvL 3 soldiers are kick bait.

4. What class are they using with their weapon? Krogan battlemasters should not use sniper rifles or SMG's.

5. Can they change classes or equipment on request? If not, it's a bad sign.
