I could do without all the reoccuring faces.. especially if they are forced, Zevran and this Crow business reaching all the way to the Free-Marches was contrived at best. So was Alistairs appearance, king of Ferelden or not really he should have been in Ferelden. Even if you made renounce his kingdom, he was still a Warden and should have been at Weisshault or however its spelt, however this is a brainstorming topic I'll focus on that.
1.) Truly Full World Exploration. Even if you have to copy how Mass Effect did it, in that you pick a region on the world globe and bring it up and can only select relevant places of interest that would be fine. Example if you pick Ferelden, you can only vist key places like Denerim, The Frostback Mountains, or the Kocari Wilds. If other places open up it's because you either bought some DLC or something in the story happened and now you need to venture there. It doesn't have to be Skyrim were you can walk from Ferelden to Orlai, but at least have that kind of open ended possibility for exploration there. This isn't to say, that I expect places you visit to be some tiny map with little to nothing but point A and point B to explore. If I go to Orlai, and I pick Val'Rio or whatever its called, then im expecting a huge city to explore with a countryside to explore. If it wasn't clear im not asking for Skyrim, I asking for something more along the lines of Origins but on a global scale.
2.) class Customization: okay DA2 has a nice feel combat wise but class wise it was way to restictive even more so than origins. Let the player pick a class and that class comes with a over-all skill set, but with room for the player to customize it into something unique to that player. Example picking a mage. You automatically have access to magic those you can learn spells as you progress, you also have access to robes, staves and scrolls/scroll making, but give them X number of slots or points to buy unique features for that mage, such as weapon proficiency, if you want to be a mage who wields a sword or mace than make it possible by allowing the PC to buy that skill, armor cool, you could be a armored mage gaining the full benefits of said option if you purchase the training for it. Rogue you automatically have backstab, lock picking and stealth/hide, weapon wise you know how to use light blades and crossbows as well as light armor, however you can purchase unique skills like heavier armor, or heavier weapon proficiencies, perhaps potion and poison making, perhaps you have hand to hand training and thus can fight well unarmed. things along this line add tons or replay value designing the hero to be your unique type of PC.
Ultimate DA3 brainstorming.
