Ran across this last night. Wondered why an analyst cared so much. What part of the job description is he fulfilling? Sounds like whining to me.

If Mass3 was a book then the book reviewers would have slammed the title for it's ending..........it's doesn't seem to work that way in the game industry though.

Games industry standards have become a joke.
Gaming journalists are useless lickspittles, backhand deals and favours are constant (hi, Allers), developers and publishers are allowed to blatantly lie about their games with no reprisal, buggy and incomplete games are released without consequence, DLC is outright abused with on-disc and day one content, and so on.

I hope the ME3 fiasco is the beginning of a wakeup call for this farce of a system.

No. I find it funny how the only thing people can do when presented with the actual truth is insult. This same guy has a Tali avatar, a Quarian, who are the biggest villians in the entire universe. Despicable slave traders who propel their bigotry to a near facist level. You can think I'm "stupid" all you like, but that doesn't make me any more objectively incompetent then all of you who ****** and moan about a video game like it's one of the most imortant things in your life.

DTOID are the only site I know that actually regard reviews as OPINION. I respect them highly for that. Because. reviews are never objective, so opinion presented for opinions sake is all they are and I feel DTOID is the most honest about this.

Also, Jim Sterling, the man covering the DTOID reports on the controversy has explained in a lenghty video why he agrees with us in a series called "The Jimquisition" this video is pretty adult humour though, so only visit it if you are a mature adult.

LOL I have to say I'm glad they are playing the whiner card because it just proves that if you buy their product and are dissatisfied and log a complaint that isn't favorable then you are the one who has to haul the luggage and are solely to blame. Perhaps so, that just means no repeat business. Very short-sighted to be dissing your customer base in my opinion. One thing Bioware needs to remember is we do have long memories for this kind of stuff and the treatment received. Software companies are here today and gone tomorrow and it looks like they've already stopped genuinely caring about their customers.

It's all about the bottom line for many companies. Short term profit.

Every company wants the profit Blizzard/Nintendo are getting, but none of them wants to do what they're (Blizzard/Nintendo) do. Meaning actually treat your consumer base as valued customer.

In before some lore geek disses Blizzard, cause he doesn't like how Thrall acts.
Same goes for the "I only play Mature games *holds up game with a half naked girl wielding a sword* Mario is for kids!"

So here we have a troll using an adhominem attack on all people that dislike the ending stating that their dislike is 100% emotional based, even though people can pull out many logical reasons why the ending was a let down (didn't match what was actively promoted by developers, thematic switch, deus ex machina, circular logic use, removely of player agency, immoral choices, lack of dialogue choices, 90% similar cutscenes, illogical sequences, polt holes, etc.).

It also adds to the amusment that the primary reasons people seem to like the endings are emotional based often with flimsy logical backing.

I am sure someone else already addressed this but I just wanted to point out the humor.

The man has honestly, on several accounts, displayed a disdain for consumers and consumer interests, failing consistently to offer objective industry analysis.

I genuinely hope that no one takes his words as some sort of "victory" or anything of the sort. Because (and honestly I try to refrain from saying things like this) the man is an idiot.

Because I don't like the ending to a book, I can't make the author change it.    Saying 'nanananana I won't buy any more of your games EVA!!!!!!!!' is childish and immature.    You can be disappointed, and you can express this on these very forums.  However there isn't a basis for some kind of legal complaint.  

WHY THE HECK should the government spend time on this????  You would have thought they have better things to be doing (I don't know, economy, foreign policy, trade, healthcare, gay rights, immigration..) than checking if a small part of the advertising for a harmless video-game product is accurate.

If Bioware want's to change the ending, and quite frankly they should because it's bad, that's their decision, but those who consider it their 'right' to have a good ending are just making all ME fans look bad. 

There have been numerous examples of authors changing the ending to suit fans (Great Expectations by Charles Dickens to name one). The ending of Fallout 3 was changed because of fan input. Movies frequently change endings based on focus groups. So the statement that we can't get an author to change things is not really valid. And to be fair the ending of ME3 was badly written and executed. It broke narrative cohesiveness and elsewhere on the forums a literary proffesor has verified this. The complaints are valid.

Also if we are getting bad service isn't our last recourse to not do business with the offending establishment ever again? It is not childish and immature. Picketing EA offices or phoning in death threats against EA or Bioware employees is childish and immature. Talking with your wallet is not childish. If EA feels the loss in profits enough they may change their ways. If not then I will help companies more in line with how I, as a consumer, want to be treated. Otherwise EA/Bioware will just keep making bad games in an ever increasing downward spiral because they know the chump customers will just keep buying it. 

Also given that Bioware all along promised us X in the game, but really delivered Y, is it not our "right" to call them on it? After all, we spent a good amount of money expecting one thing but ended up with something else. Even the Better Business Bureau said that such claims of fraud are legitimate. 

Basically Bioware/EA totally bungled the ending. They have a choice of correcting this mistake or risk losing a lot of customers. It's time that the gaming industry be held to the same standards as other industries. If I order a steak for $25 and am given a hamburger, am I correct in asking for a steak? Of course I am. Should I live with the hamburger because I don't have a right to question the cook and have them change? No.

Same with ME3, we just want an ending that makes sense and one that we were promised.
