Today I was playing with a mic (Sony Wireless Stereo Headset). For two or three matches, everythng was fine. Then I had a horrible problem with poor frame rate, comparable to some of the battles to rescue the female Krogan in ME3. That match was unplayable. I don't know for sure what it is, but things seem back to normal after I quit the game, turned off the mic, and restarted. Any chance that a mic could cause dropped frames?

I doubt it. I've had that problem using a mic and without using a mic. It's just one of the issues we need to work around playing online.
