You know -- it wasn't until like my fifth playthrough. That I made this shocking discovery. Many of my ME2 Imports either have Garrus or Tali
dead or Tali as my Love Interest. So this was news to me :P

At first sight, I didn't know what to think or what to feel. But I certainly didn't appreciate the "Auto-Dialogue Response" that is forced upon us.Where Shep says, "I'm happy for you two." But in any-case.In that
playthrough.I didn't give their new way of interacting with each other much thought.Miranda was my L.I. and I had other things on my mind.

But when I started up more new playthroughs based on my other ME2 Imports.Something about Tali & Garrus being together really didn't agree with me.Whether Tali was my girlfriend or not... I discovered
quite a bit of unknown dialogue. When I went down to the Engineering Deck of the ship.In which you can overhear bits and pieces of Tali and Garrus talking to one another.I wasn't trying to spy on her.I came down
there to talk to her.But she seems to have very little to say to Shepard.Other than "Hey, Shepard." or "Thanks for stopping by." "Talk to you later."

I got the impression that sense I spurned her advances in ME2. Tali is acting out in a passive-aggressive way towards Shepard in 2186. But I think what troubles me most about their new relationship. Is the fact
that there is no closure betwixt Shep & Tali. How are any of us suppose to forget all that Tali said to us in ME2. (If you came close to romancing her) All BioWare had to do in ME3. Is allow Shepard and Tali to have a conversation about where they left off. Because at no time did I or do I feel that just because Tali is with Garrus that she no longer has an interest in Shepard.

There's just this BIG Question Mark there. Shep needs to be able to ask Tali if she still has feelings for him. In fact I feel as though Shepard should be able to ask this of all the characters he or she came close to romancing in ME2 -- with whom he encounters again in ME3. If you didn't romance Liara or Ashley in ME1 -- you can in ME3. Why can't you do the same with other characters? Has that window of opportunity closed? Who can say...

Wow. :o Really?  So... No one else on this entire vast array of forums at BioWare Social Network has any thoughts, feelings or opinions whatsoever about Tali and Garrus getting together in Mass Effect 3.

Is everyone else here really so indifferent on this topic?

Good grief. =]

I'll validate your existence.
I've always disliked both of them, so I'm glad their love will be empty and childless. They deserve each other.

Personally walking in on Garrus and Tali was hilarious...considering they use to tease each other in the first two games.
I agree with you that the relations with the other characters should have been more in-depth,

Actually this has been discussed quite a bit in the Garrus and Tali threads. ;)

I'm personally fine with it, if Shep doesn't romance either of them, I'm glad they have each other, they're kinda cute together.

Its been discussed alot. I like both of them, so on my only non-romance playthrough it was cute to see. Tali is one foxy lady though - always flirting and teasing garrus.

My only complaint is that the flirting seemed forced and awkward.

I much prefer them as just being friends, personally. Their dialogues with each other are quite a bit better in that situation anyway (compare the two different conversations they can have in the main battery before Earth; the friend one is leagues superior to the "hookup" one).

On a perhaps semi-related note, of the two main synthetic-organic relationships in the game, I also felt the platonic one (Tali/Legion) was far better than the romantic one (EDI/Joker).

I burst out laughing when I walked in on them and then immediately thought "d'awwwww, so cute". I love both characters and was really glad that they found each other. To me it felt like a natural extension of their playful teasing in ME2 and early in ME3.

I just find the concept of synthetic romance to be hard to grasp. EDI doesn't have the hormones rushing around. Surely she would only want a platonic releationship? It always felt like Joker just wanted to hookup with a sexbot, and EDI was just going along for the ride out of curiousity.

It was awkward. It was like watching a brother and sister make out. I puked a little in my mouth.

Same goes with EDI and Joker.

Tali and Garrus is better than Tali and Shepard.

Okay, I have no idea how you can feel that way. I for one will never forget what Garrus said to Tali on the elevator in Mass Effect 1. She brings it up in ME3. Even goes as far as to say she can replay what he said on her omni-tool. Garrus apology is pretty lame. He talks about how he was really young and blah blah blah. Dude it was only three years ago, how old and expeirenced is he now.   I find it hard to believe that it wouldn't be taboo (and rare) for a quarian to date a turian. Given how the turians turned thier back on the quarians in thier time of need just like every other Council race did. One would think there would still be alot of animosity there. That whole Fleet & Flotila movie always struck me as an insult to injury.

However humans and quarians have no innate ill will towards one another. Hell our species wasn't even on the galactic stage when the Morning War took place. And when I think of all that Shepard & Tali go through together, I think what really bugs me most about Tali & Garrus romance. Is that (depending on your moral and ethical compass) Commander Shepard has to comprimise his integrity, lie under oath and cover up the sins of a war criminal to get with Tali. All Garrus has to do is talk to her. :P  What's up with that. And then Tali has the nerve (when she's getting drunk) to say to Shep that her father wouldn't have liked him. Now why wouldn't Admiral Rael Zorah not like Commander Shepard? A career military man who has destroyed more geth than any other organic. And saved his only daughters life (on multiple occasions)

Shepard & Tali just have more history and depth than Garrus & Tali ever will. I'll never forget in ME2 when Tali sort of reminded me that she was responsible for Shepard becoming a Spectre. I had kind of forgotten about that. Its when your in the Human Councillors Office and talk to her. Shep & Tali have a connection and special relationship. Thier fates are intertwined in certain ways: they are indebted to one another. Garrus & Tali are just squadmates. <_<  And if you broke up with Tali, for Garrus to hook up with Shepard's ex and not even give him a heads up or ask for his blessing is pretty low.

I'll romance Garrus in every single play through ever so I don't think about this pairing much lol.

But objectively speaking, I think it's quite sweet!

Not only does it make sense in terms of the way they tease each other, but how they bond over being the among the very few aliens on the Normandy (and dextro no less). There's also that movie Fleet and the Flotilla (which "got awards for its portrayal of Turian/Quarian relationships") and it's funny how a song from its soundtrack is the second most played track on Garrus's visor. I'll also never forget what Garrus says about Tali if she kills herself from the geth/quarian incident. Said he always imagined an "angel behind that mask". People don't just say that about any ordinary friend. So it's sweet  :D

Though it'll never happen in my universe heh.

I get what you're saying but you might be taking Tali/Garrus's relationship too seriously imo. There is no doubt that Tali/Shep's relationship is very deep and real. But when you walk in on Tali/Garrus, Tali outright says to Garrus "I'm using you for your body". She admits herself that she doesn't consider her fling w/ Garrus to be of the deepest most intense romantic involvement in the universe. A girl is allowed to sleep around and have casual relationships as long as its responsible.

As for Garrus not asking Shep for permission...it would seem they probably started hooking up around towards the end of ME3's events, and out of the blue. The world is about to end, I don't think it'd be Garrus's priority to ask the most important person in the war if he could have a casual relationship with an ex that Shep dumped.

Why would Garrus need to ask permission if Tali and Shepard broke up? Is Tali Shepard's personal property who can do nothing without Shepard's stated approval? Once the relationship ended, Shepard no longer has a say in the matter. The only person who can give Garrus permission is Tali.

Err... are you referring to the pairing of Garrus & Tali as "disgusting' or this thread? :P
