Yo. So am I. I'd take 3 people with little experience and attitudes like this over cocky 12 year olds any day.

I mostly play Bronze, and occasionally Silver when I'm feeling cocky. I know my limitations. My 62 year old hands and eyes aren't what they used to be. So today I decided to try a Gold game for the first time in an effort to win a commendation pack. So I end up in a lobby with popemasterx7, DMNz I Decimas and TrUnKz07.  I don't have a mic. Nobody kicks me. (I'm playing an Asari Adept with Carnifex, because I can throw powers easier than aiming a gun). We go thru Firebase Ghost against Cerberus. It was a thrill-a-minute for me! I died several times and was rezzed every time. I even managed to rez them a couple times, although I'm sure I wasn't a lot of help. But I threw as hard and often as I could. We made it to full extraction. What a thrill!! Nobody kicked me when we got back to the lobby. I won't play Gold again anytime soon, but I really appreciate these 3 guys carrying me thru and giving me an opportunity to participate in Operation Silencer on the Gold level. I'll keep killing Banshees from the Bronze level where I belong the rest of the weekend. Thanks again guys!Image IPB

60 years young, top stuff!

I envy you. You sound a lot like my grandpa I dearly miss :/ He was all into fun, not technically gaming, but fun stuff. You are amazing and I hope I will play games when I'm 62.
Have a nice day everyone ^_^

Nice one. I'm impressed by the attitude of the OP, rather than his age - nice guy, humble in his estimates of his own skills, and ready to give credit where it's due. That's something I'd love to see more of in any context. That he's still playing at 62 says less about his age and more about my idea of a mindset to be respected. You're never too old to have fun or take on a challenge. Cheers to you!

You are simply wrong and no one has to prove it to you.

In fact, in the early 90's I worked at Electronics Boutique (now EB Games) part time.  This was back when the sales reps there wore suit and ties.  I had some particular customers that came in a few times a month.  They were an older couple (late 70's is my guess) that played computer games together.  They would come in and we would chat about what was out at the time.  They loved the old Sierra adventure games like Kings Quest.  They would pick one on my recommendation and go home and play/finish it together and come back for another recommendation.  This was before there was household Internet so they relied on my opinion instead of reviews that we now all take for granted.

They were awesome and I would like to think they are still out there gaming!

I would be honored to play with you, sir - no matter the difficulty level,
platform - xbox
gamertag DHG DarkAedin

i played with a bunch of 50 + gentlemen across a few games already, and although it might be innapropriate to clump u guys together, but you older generation fellas are by far the best to play with, i always have the most fun, and amazing gaming moments

- i have a close-to-60 year old friend who i play COD with, he was rocking a riot shield and was slowly advancing on 3 guys who were focus firing him, this enabled me to flank them and destroy them, so the 2 of us could take the objective, couldnt have done it without him, and due to COD's playback ability, the two of us watched it over and over again, it was like something out of a movie

I started playing video games in the late 70's when "pong" first came out. I think I still have the original console up in the attic somewhere. I have since played on the computer for many years, mostly shooters and rpgs. Since I've had the XBOX I mostly play single-player rpgs, like the Mass Effect series, Dragon Age, Red Dead, Tomb Raider, etc. In between Mass Effect 2 & 3 I played Dark Souls. It had a multiplayer aspect that I played for the first time, and enjoyed. I completed the game just before ME3 came out. After I was about half way thru 3, I started the multiplayer part of the game, and haven't gone back to the single player since. Probably 95% of the matches I've played have been very positive. I think I'm getting better. My N7 is 210, but people with lower N7s usually out-point me. I typically end up 3rd or 4th. I really enjoy this game and forum. Gamertag is Eric the Caniac. Looking forward to playing with you guys.

:D Awesome!

Nothing wrong with ending up 3rd or 4th, IMO. It's a team effort, so what really matters is completing the mission, and not your final score.

Now this is all what co-op MP is really about... teamwork, good fun, and everyone wins! Don't know why people who don't get this bother, there's other PVP type games for those that can't work together as a team. Thanks for posting and recognizing the 3 great players you managed to find randomly.

Gotta luck out in the lobby but there's good random ones out there no matter what people say. Did a Silver Reaper run in Glacier yesterday with 4 Adepts... played a game on some other map when I used my Turian Sentinel, but everything was already going boom, so decided to amp it up. 2 Asari Adepts, a Drell Adept and my Asari Justicar... easy map to get swarmed, but everything was getting blown up. Totally frenetic action but oh so much fun.

Hope you get a nice goodie in your commendation pack!

Sorry to revive a pretty old thread but just wanted to pop in and say hi, my gamertag is Decimus and my friend is popemaster, two of the three the OP was playing with.

A nice little spin on the story is that I'm currently studing for my university finals so I allowed myself one shot at the Operation Silencer (Need the Valiant II...got the eagle... yay! :S) before getting back to revision. And this was the result! Very glad I decided to procrastinate for a bit :)

It was a pretty hectic match, especially in the 10th/extraction wave, desperately trying to fend Cerby off for the full extraction got pretty tense!  We don't quite have the skill to pull through gold by ourselves, Aerrik is being far too modest! :) We were both Asari Adepts so we had some good synergy going throughout. Definitely a team effort, every revive and every kill matters in gold!
