Weapon and Racial Feats!

How is it that racial and weapon feats have certain purposes assigned to them?
Another question - is it possible to separate towershields from the 'shield proficiency' feat and then make a new feat for them to separately engage?
How is it that the weapon feats allow for you to 'focus' in certain weapons? I'm trying to make it so one of the Dwarven racial feats gives a dwarf the use of dwarven waraxe. I've done this in the baseitems.2da, but while it can be held - it doesn't allow it to be focused in. Anyone have insight on this?
And lastly - how does one designate how a weapon is fit to be finessed? I want to make scimitars finessable.
Thanks again community!

Racial feats can be assigned in the baseitem.2da ReqFeat0, ReqFeat1 etc.. to be allowed to use that item. So for the tower shield you would make your feat and make the tower shield base item feat required point to that feat. Similar to the baseitems, the feat.2da has similar feat checks, to give you dwarf the ability to focus in dwarven waraxe you **** the required feat then down the row more you will see orFeats use these both. Put the exotic weapon feat in one and the stonecutting feat in the other. This will allow the dwarf to focus in dwarven war axe without haveing exotic weapon feat and still function normally with other PC. If you are confused all this has already been done in my HR base. I just fixed the weapon focus and will be in the next update. Look over the .2da for comparison. Good luck

Oh lastly weapon finesse is hardcoded, sorry.

90% of everything talked about on the boards was derived from that documentation at one point or another.

I kinda thought that, just wanted to clarify. Also - I've done as Shadow has said and it still isn't working, I still can't focus in it. I'll keep at it.
Weapon focus feats only apply to a certain row of baseitems.2da. If you are creating a new row, it will not work, even if you use the same base item.

How I have it set up, it'll only take stonecunning or exotic as what determines your ability to focus in dwarven waraxe.
But I want it to work like the elven weapon proficiency. You are able to focus in those weapons, but do not need martial, as its a racial thing.

If one of you could copy the line and show me what it would look like 'correct' that would be a nice learning experience for me. I've already learned a lot, this just doesn't seem to want to work smoothly though.
Oh: And thanks!

Do you guys see anything wrong in there? That is the feat info. I've changed the feat for the requirement now to 'battle training orcs' - as I'm going to use stonecunning as a free feat for custom domains I'm making. I'm going crazy! I can't seem to figure what the issue is. It's in the oReq area, no idea why it won't function.

animal domain is script based, except those extra spells for cleric. If you want ot give druid cats grace you need to do it in spells.2da, same with polymorph self.Der_Arschgeiger wrote...
Also - would it be possible to assign a druid feat a connection to animal domain?
For better summons, you only need the domain so you can give a druid this domain while levelling up via cls_feat_druid.2da or bonus feat applied on skin.
Or easiest, simply edit the spell nw_s0_summon and on the line where it checks animal domain add "|| GetLevelByclass(class_TYPE_DRUID,OBJECT_SELF) > 0;

I've another question too, but no one has answered it. I moved the thread to the Custom Content page because someone told me these kinds of questions belong there.
But do you know how to change or edit ranged weapons? I don't actually want to add a new one, but replace one. The intent is to add flintlocks by turning darts, throwing axes, or shuriken into them.
Basically right now I've turned darts into a "gun" but it is still treating it like "ammunition", even when it says not to. It's weird too because I've even changed the model into a gun. It just won't change from an actual firearm into, it says amunition and will actually shoot itself and then disappear, since it is a unstackable, stack of one.
Crossbows will still only want to shoot bolts.
Is that hardcoded?
