Think about it like this, When they first created they were tools, then they became advanced or whatever and the Quarians decided to take them out., Obviously the fought back. If you look at it like that, Would you destroy the Quarian species because they created something they didn't want to, or the Geth, machines that happen to evolve.

I don't know, would you kill a parent if they tried to strangle a child who started asking disturbing questions?

I set up peace between the Quarians and Geth, and I'm not going to argue that it would be an infinitely difficult question for me to answer if I couldn't. But 'Geths aren't organic and therefore aren't people' would not be part of the equation. They are sentient, sapient- they fear the death and destruction of their kind, they wonder on the same abstract, philosophical questions that organics do. The fact that they started out as software is irrelevant to me.

The point being the Quarian's made a huge mistake. Had you paid attention, the Geth only fought back in self-defense and after the Quarians fled, they stopped attacking. 

If you had some reasoning as to why you'd save the Quarians over the Geth, I'd be producing it.

Is it based only on ignorance and steryotyping? That may be in our history but that is only because the races we persecuted had nothing really wrong with them.

Life is life I always back the one who isn't starting the trouble and wouldn't mind peace. There were Quarians who backed the Geth. Just like there will be Humans who do to. And not all of them are hippies you dig.

I am glad someone has brought this up. I hate it when people say, if you choose destroy its genocide or that you're betraying the geth. It's ridiculous! They are not people, there is nothing immoral about choosing destroy. And yes, siding with the geth in any way that compromises an organic makes you a genocidal maniac and a person who believes machines are actually equal to people. The Geth are so willing to kill you and yet you don't want to kill them? Stupid.
And calling it racism is lame. If you call it racist, you're a lame.

Especially remember, at that time to the Quarians they were just tools, the fact they were upgrading themselve becomes scary, Would I have took it to the point the Quarians did no....But I understand and would have done something similar with a few changes
