Asari adept with Stasis Bubble for area denial against shielded enemies.

Warp with detonation evolution, rank 6, also expose and pierce.

Throw rank 6 with detonation evolution and radius increase and damage/force bonus.

Fitness rank 5 for shield bonuses.

Weapon, tempest SMG with ultralight materials and thermal capacitor (mainly for full auto at short range during stasis or warp cooldown as you retreat - anything longer should be handled with biotics).

Salarian Engineer is really fun. Max Energy Drain and Incinerate and spec Decoy to shock. Play Cerberus or Geth.

For best use, use a GPS, Indra or Mattock.

Try a Quarian Infiltrator with Full Upgrades on Sabotage (concentrate on controlling the enemy and duration, not on hurting them), full shield-branch fitness, full weight-branch and power damage on their class specialty, and then duration-branch on cloak. Then take a Scimitar Shotgun (level VII or above, so it's really light) and a geth SMG (make sure to make it weigh almost nothing) and go against geth. It... well, it owns.

Drell vanguard with points spent in everything but fitness. Talon or Disciple, either preferably at lvl 3. Spec for biotic explosions, haven't finished with grenades yet.
Lvl 20 not necessary, but helpful. I did a gold run at 14, with a few other 15-19 level players. It was one of my more enjoyable matches. Partially because my pub team all had and used their mics, partially because I was contributing just as much as they were with a class commonly seen as foolhardy. <3

Drell Adept or Vanguard take a lot of getting used to. But Reave + Lift Grenades and Reave + Charge are just endless fun.

For something radically different, try a Salarian infiltrator with the biggest shotgun you can find.

Human engineer is a lot of fun.

Combat drone for distracting heavies(brutes, banshee, atlas, etc..)
Maxed out overload will kill most unshielded geth outright and strip any shield.
Maxed out incinerate tears through armor and also kills most unarmored enemies outright.
Maxed out sticky grenade is great for heavy enemies.

This build is specced for powers so you need +200% cooldown. That means you can only carry one weapon. The choice is up to you but I usually go with:

Avenger X with armor piercing and extended barrel mod. The avenger is rapid firing, easily controllable, good at range if you practice, and holds a decent amount of ammo. The armor piercing makes it really usefull against heavy enemies and guardians. The extended barrel just makes more powerful against anything. Although you could swap those mods out depending on your own playstyle.

Human engineer has no sticky grenade.
