No mention of Durian yet? Disappointed.
Worst smelling food. Ever.
I would never be able to down it... especially after having it described to me as tasting like "warm avocados."

For avocado, try blending half an avocado (just cut it in half lengthwise and remove the pulp with a spoon, like ice cream) 1 teacup of sugar, and 1/2 teacup of lemon juice.
Trust me, it's VERY good [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie]
Thanks I'll try if I find any.

I remember it tasting like custard and onions. It's not bad, but I refuse to swallow that yellow chunk of durian meat.
You are however possibly the best BSN member I know until 30 seconds later for simply trying durian. How many of you are that adventurous and still give a bard-like fruit-related narrative?

Actually, if you eat the Durian when it's not too ripe, there's hardly any smell. Doesn't taste quite as sweet though.
In Thai, they ask you if you like it "messy" (ripe).
My mom says that in some public places in Thailand, they have "no eating Durian" signs, kinda like no-smoking signs here, because of the smell.

Aaaand... as far as durian, yes! On my visits to Asian countries, they forbid you to bring durian in some hotels because the smell just sticks and stinks up the room. But, when you walk along the street stalls, you'll get sudden bursts of that smell quite often... which is really unappreciated when you aren't feeling all that well to begin with! My brother told me it wasn't too bad, either.. but I just can't. The smell of it just causes an extremely negative reaction to me.
Have you guys tried Lansones? It's my mom's favorite... and really quite yummy. Until you accidentally bite the seed and get a slap of bitterness.

My personal favorite "exotic" fruit is Mangosteen... which I always make a point to buy when possible. :]

They taste like cruel jokes to me. Cruel little jokes.
They are like pieces of cotton drenched in mildly sugary water. Each bite is a cottony mockery of the price I paid for them.
