No, Phoenixes are not protheans, ex cerberus operatives, raloi, not even Volus!

It's the Rachni!

The galaxy thought them dead, but they have risen from the ashes to fight back against the reaper threat!

And you felt the need to open a whole new topic on this instead of posting in the respective topic exactly why?

Rachni would be cool, but I don't remember them being biotic.

People have brought this up as a posibility though, I've seen it in at least a couple threads. The Rachni would make sense in a lot of ways, game mechanics notwithstanding. I still want Hanar.

I don't think so. They are too far away from the humanoid model to use.

Rachni would be awesome. But they wouldn't really fall into the weapon guidelines unless they make them look more like keepers with arms and the such. The Rachni from ME1 looked quite different from ME3 due to Reaper upgrades so it's unclear whether they could even hold a weapon.
Would love to see it happen, but I don't think it will.

I would actually like a non bi pedal race in the MP. It would show some real originality in MP from BW, purely because of all the hard work involved.

They could totally do something crazy with the Rachni. Make them completely reliant on spitting acid and biotics. MAYBE strap a gun to their back. It just might be the breath of fresh air this game needs.

Rachni would be awesome and wouldn't break lore at all, so it's probably not Rachni.

@Mad I all ready said a "specialist" class, up to BW if they are really committed to making that work though.

A specialist class "could" be lore breaking and add all the characters that we wouldn't otherwise get.

@Nocturnal It wouldn't really be lore breaking since the Rachni are still alive. The Broods have biotic powers so it wouldn't be a MASSIVE stretch to give regular Rachni powers (I know it's been said before, but still.) Could you imagine the heavy melee? Impaling Husks? Awesome.

A specialist class would be lore breaking in all the characters it could allow:
Rachni, keeper, volus, elcor, hanar, and many others who wouldn't normally fit into lore.

EDIT:
But then Rachni "might" fit, for those of you who have done the aralahk company mission will know what I am on about.

I'm lolling about how you were complaining about the people who argue about lore issues, but now you're trying to give reasons the Rachni could be lore-breaking (even though several of the "breaks lore" people have said it's fine).
