I have tried everything (deleting all ME3 data/installed games/cache) and it won't get past that screen. The only way to work the game is to remove the hard drive. I called xbox and they're out of ideas. What can I do?

Here's an update:
On Friday, after my third playthrough of ME3 (I had 3 versions of Shepard that I've been carrying since ME1), I decided to try the multiplayer. I had a lot of fun, and it was great. However, each time I turned on the game since then it took longer and longer to sign in to EA's servers (the connection for when the laptop screen opens).
Last night (May 12 at about 11pm EST) I tried playing the game. My xbox froze just before the start menu on a black screen (full freeze, the only buttons that worked were the disc eject and power buttons). I rebooted the xbox and tried again a few times with the same result. I was too tired to fix the problem so I decided to troubleshoot in the morning.
This morning I call up xbox support, they guide me through all of the trouble shooting steps. I delete the cache, all ME3 related data (I backed saves onto a USB), tried signing in while offline, redownloading my gamertag, delete the system update, etc. Nothing worked. The only way to play ME3 at all is to use a different gamertag or no profile at all (in other words it always works perfectly as long as I'm not using my gamertag). I call EA, they tell me they are aware of a similar issue, but believe that mine is separate. They tell me to update them if I manage to figure it out and send me a measly 3$ coupon as an apology that a product I bought no longer works on my account.
So now I can no longer import any of my ME1 or 2 saves to ME3. I quite annoyed, as I really enjoyed finishing the game with my various incarnations of Shepard. Now I can't play online either because no other profile of mine has xbox live gold or an online pass for ME3. I'm quite annoyed.
Is there anything else I can try to fix this problem?

Thanks for the heads up. How long has this problem been around?

I have had it for about 2 weeks, but some have had it since about two days after launch. There is a currently 90 page thread about it that should be somewhere near the top of the list.

Ok, so I called EA again and they told me to post any and all info I can regarding the problem. So I know for a fact that it's linked to my gamertag (I can play it perfectly as long as my GT is not involved).
The last thing I did before I got the black screen of death was I had finished a multiplayer match. I used up all my credits on weapon packs using the in game credit system. I believe I bought 1 of the packs that cost 20 000 credits and the rest were the 5000 credit ones OR I just bought a bunch of 5 000 credit weapon packs, I'm not entirely sure. Anyways, after buying the last pack (90% sure it was the cheaper one), I looked through what I got, pressed A to dismiss and then turned off my xbox via the power button on the console itself.

Don't expect BioWare or EA to be of any help in resolving this issue.
The only workaround at this time is here:
