 Hi there,

There are, on some rare occasions, moments that please you so much and makes you say:
"DAMN.... That's what I call gaming!"

Somehow you feel the way you would for any kind of great accomplishment in your everyday life (sports, job...).

I had one of those epic moments yesterday, and I take this opportunity to start this thread of epicness.

First let me say I'm not a great player, get correct results in Silver but still struggle in Gold (which I rarely play).

So yesterday I happened to host several games in a row (random Silver). There was one player who had not quit since he joined the party, Human Soldier level around 10 with a Revenant. I can tell the guy was struggling to get along with this difficult setup (difficult IMO when you're not an awesome player) but he was doing what he could, reviving, reaching objectives... etc.

Then the next game starts and 2 players leave right before 1st wave begins, leaving me and the guy mentioned before (let's call him the Dude B) ) on our own. We were dropped in FB Ghost against geth. I had my Asari Adept.

I was willing to quit since there was absolutely no way we could handle this, but.... I don't know... the Dude had not quit for several games and he didn't here, so I was like: "Okay, let's give it a shot, maybe we can reach wave 7-8 if we're lucky with the objectives, it's good practice anyway I guess..."

So here we go, me with biotic explosions as primary weapons, and the Dude holding the line (Hold the line!) with his Revenant.
He did not seem to know what was going on, where to take position since we're only 2 in this boat..... basically what to do. And honestly I didn't know better, I had never played with just one squadmate so far.

I'm usually totally mute on public game, but this time.... along with the fact I was a bit drunk.....   I just went crazy on the mic!

"OH GOD!"
"VERY NICE!"
"RUN!"
...

First waves were okay, I don't remember what was the first objective but nothing terrible.
Things start to get a lot tougher on wave 5-6. The Dude has hard time replusing pyros and hunters (but he holds the line!).

Second objective is Upload... Damn! I'm terrible at this thing against geth, and with only the 2 of us.... WTF?!
I'm doing my best to make everything bioexplode around me, but we're soon overwhelmed by pyros and hunters, start a revival chain, and when we're both down I tell the Dude: "Let it go... that was a nice try!" Anyway our bodies are surrounded by pyros and hunters, so we're doomed.

... But the guy does not give up! He uses medigel and, somehow, manages to revive me (how the hell...) and, a few explosions later, we actually get to clear the area.

At this point, I'm thinking: "Great, we could be able to reach wave 10" and start to.... well, have faith!

We struggle and eventually get to wave 10. Objective is hacking. Not bad!
But things go bad once again and we both end up down while running for our lives. I'm pretty sure at this point the Dude had no medigel left. But this time I refused to give up, medigel, somehow manage to draw the cobra and clean the room, wake up the Dude, and we're on our way.

Last hacking device is a piece of epicness that totally made my day.

The device is located near the LZ, in the building on the right of it.
I'm the one hacking and the Dude takes cover at the window and unleashes hell on pyros and hunters grouping outside the building and shooting at the window (I don't know if he killed many but that looked so damn cool anyway!).
While hacking, I'm watching if we're not flanked and see rocket troopers approaching the room from inside the buildings. Obviously the Dude could not catch them, so I literally scream on the mic:
"BEHIND YOU!!!!!"

The tenth of a second that follows, the Dude then does an epic rolling strafe move and laughs the crap out of me!

Obective complete, we run for our lives and eventually clear the wave.

We hold position rather far from the LZ during the last wave, moved to another spot, and so on, bioexploding and ramboing everything we could. The Dude went down in the last run to the LZ but no f****n' way I was letting him behind. Out of rage, I detonate everything that stands between me and his body and revive him.

... And then we RUN!

We take cover by the boxes on the LZ, the "boogeys" are far enough, they cannot harm us anymore...

WE DID IT!!!

I can't exactly remember what I said on the mic when I saw the Full Extraction award but..... oh man..... I was so crazy!

I'm pretty sure you guys have your own tale of epicness :)

Let it be known!

That entertained me OP, nice one.

For some odd reason I like to persevere when the odds are stacked against me, it makes for fun times

3 headshots, one bullet. 2 guardians and an assault trooper were all lined up perfectly. It felt good. :police:

I like having moments of suicidal glory: charging into your imminent death and killing as much as you can. Usually to sad piano music as your team gets away because that ALWAYS makes it better.

Though usually I live. But that's because I'm silly like that. =]

We had a LAN party last night at a friends house, playing against Reapers on Fire Base Glacier. Silver difficulty because we had a pair of new players on the team. Wave 10 we got an upload objective at the end of the hall on the low side of the landing pad (If you exit on the right side, toward the lower basement area) which is the definition of shooting fish in a barrel, and we were the fish.

So three of us go down in rapid succession and somehow my buddy revives us, but it ends up in a bad revive chain due to the amount of fire coming our way. I was playing my Geth Infiltrator as usual, but had recently switched to a melee build. At that point we were bunched up with a pair of Ravagers drawing a bead on us from the top of the stairs, and another two on the landing pad. Any place that was out of the line of fire of one set was directly in the line of fire of the other, so I hit medi-gel and an ops survival pack to get my shields back, dashed toward the set up the stairs, threw a proxy mine and dropped into heavy melee. Killed both Ravagers and managed to roll back just in time to avoid getting Ravager Juice all over me and take out a few of the remaining Marauders that had been adding to the fray. By that point my friends had broken the revive chain and I fell back long enough for us to complete the hack.

That was definitely a heart-pumping moment, especially since it was my first run using a melee build on anything but a Krogan.

Neat.
I'm pretty sure I never got past this particular upload against Reapers when it happens on wave 10 or even 6 (except when I was playing Bronze I guess).

I just don't know where the hell I'm supposed to be safe...

I do like that too. It's one of the best indicator that folks are appreciating their gaming session.

Gold reapers on Giant. Cloak-shot a PM from the control room to the area near the LZ and got a kill streak that included some ravagers and a brute (they have been weakened by teammates' BE). Felt good.

That objective is a killer. Probably amongst the top 5 worst in the game. My top 5 worst would be:

Fire Base Reactor - Middle of the Reactor (any enemy)
Fire Base Reactor - Top of the ladder, next to extraction (any enemy)
Fire Base Glacier - Right of the Landing Pad (any enemy)
Fire Base Giant - Center of map (Reapers and Geth are the worst. Cerberus isn't as bad)
Fire Base Reactor - Top side of Reactor, opposite end from the Extraction Point (any enemy)

Reactor is by far the worst. Notable runnier-ups are Fire Base Giant, behind the wall of rubble left of the Extraction Point, and Fire Base Condor, behind the Mako.

Being the sniper providing cover fire from a distance while your team hack, then getting surprised by a group of guardians and phantom. My team comes up to see a load of dead enemies and a Quarian reloading a harpoon gun

Funny.

I've had a rather similar experience but on a random gold pub. I was running my GI going about my business turning mooks into goo, noticed a fairly good AA in the team.

So its wave 7 and i get myself downed because I'm reckless, nice AA comes over and revives me. Thank You! It occurs to me that I haven't seen a lot of my teammates lately so as soon as the waves ends I start looking around : nobody...

I bring up the menu and sure enough its just me and the asari. Now at that point I seriously considered just leaving because it seems noone ever joins gold lobbies in the later waves and i've only ever been able to 3-man a gold game before-by the skin of my teeth, I might add.

But the guy isn't leaving and its still 30.000 credits so I stay. And Lo and Behold! We actually extract in full! The two of us! That felt great!

After that we even proceeded to carry some players through the week-end event! Easiest gold games i ever did! So as soon as I stopped playing I invite the guy on origin and we had a nice conversation afterwards. We even ****ed some about the endings ;)

Easily the best time I've ever had on ME3's MP!

Don't forget Dagger at the end of the hallway (where if, when facing out of the windows in the control room, you go left), right at the top of the two ramps.  Almost no cover and the enemies come from everywhere.

That thing is almost half as cheap as geth hunters, and that is a lot.

Excellent!

I'm guessing that is the same kind of experience we had here. Well, considered it was gold (against reapers I might add), the joy was even greater for sure!

I did also add my epic squadmate in Origin. No contact so far, but I guess when I happen to see him online I'll just poke him like: "Yo, down for some crazy desperate killing? Jus' you and me bro..."

@OP, good story! ;D

@phychotic, I've killed 3x in one bullet & HS 2x in one bullet before. But 3x HS on a single bullet is dame nice.

My only epic moment was on a Gold mission near an extraction point. Time was running out & a teammate veered too far w/ a Ravager his path. He was unloading on it w/ his Smg & I cloaked & sniped the Ravager at close range. The whole Reaper horde would be upon both of us in seconds- I meleed the Ravager twice & cleared the way for an extraction.

I've done some successful last stand cat & mouse w/ my Infiltrator many times & even some cool rocket saves, but that meleed hit was a solid moment.

Epicness?

The group I usually play with will all be sitting at the menu and receive a message to "Assemble". Then we arrive as three human vanguards and one Krogan vanguard as the Avengers. Each vanguard has a pretty good paint job.

That is pretty awesome. Three of my friends and I run around as the Batarian Power Rangers. Needless to say our favorite map and enemy to play is Glacier/Cerberus. Filthy blights and all that.

I was in a silver at Reactor with geth and we got to wave 10. It was the objective to execute targets, and within the first 30 seconds, all 3 of the other team members went down. The first prime hadnt even gone down yet. I was on my salarian engineer, as usual. I figure, I didnt go through all that just to lose, but I also know that its not like the upload objective, I cant lead the mobs away and upload in peace, and I cant cloak. Decoy is nice, but only when it works. I am also out of missiles, so I cant take the easy way out. So I just run from cover to cover focusing on the targets, and if mobs get too close, drop decoy and run around to another angle. It wasnt actually all that bad in the end, but it felt epic as hell. I probably wouldnt have succeeded on any other character though, the energy drain and the decoy really covered the distance for me.
