You assume you know better than an omniscient being. Omniscient beings don't operate on fallible, emotional human morality, homeslice. This is why you guys didn't understand the ending.
Horrible as I find this to admit, I'm inclined to agree with this. Note, I still hate the ending. But analysis of the narrative begins to point out that everything in the ME trilogy points towards the Reapers and the synthetic-organic conflict being a divine problem supervised by God. They couldn't possibly have written the whole story any worse than they did, but yes, I'm beginning to think that the Catalyst is the incarnation of some sort of divinity aswell.
Dear god Bioware what have you done?

Yes. I have no problem with the Catalyst itself and the choices it offers, but I want exposition of the problem and a description of the choices that makes sense. And I want to ask questions, even if in the end I'm still stuck with the three options.Ramus Quaritch wrote...
I don't mind the principle of an AI controlling/managing the Reapers. But I want to talk to it. It want to learn more about it and the Reapers and why it is doing what it is doing. Where it came from. Unfortunately, Bioware was lazy (used the "Lots of speculation!" cop out) and had a completely one-note, scripted conversation with it. I want to be able to tell the Catalyst that its logic and "beliefs" are crap. There should have been some charm/intimidate options there.
But no charm/intimiate options. An entity like the Catalyst should be immune to such.
