I feel sorry for most of the user that are in this thread... They are beyond salvageable at this point. If only you had support the Catalyst...

:o)

Don't the Catalyst indoctrinate you! Fight it!

I no longer believe that jreezy. The kid cannot be denied. BioWare is too powerful. The only hope of survival is to join with them. EA is a machine. It thinks like a machine. If I can prove my value, I become a resource, worth maintaining. There is no other logical conclusion.

It's not too late!  You can still redeem yourself!

No! You... Too late. Can't go back... I'm not doing this for myself. Don't you see, BioWare will succeed. It is inevitable. My way is the only way any of us will survive. I'm forging an alliance between us and BioWare, between gamers and developers, and in doing so, I will save more games than have ever existed. But you would undo my work. You would doom the entire gaming industry to complete annihilation, and for that, you must die.

But...

Haha, I like it! All the crap the catalyst gets is completely undeserved. After all he's only responsible for the extinction of a few tens of thousands of civilizations.

Yeah, he doesn't deserve the bum rap he gets.  What's a few hundred thousand genocides mean in the long run anyway?

You don't have to call something God because it's omniscient.

Not omniscient. Far from it. In fact: after looking at the big picture for a billion years, it's pretty much incapable of seeing the smaller pictures.

Well, from his point of view it's not genocide: our genetic material is actually preserved and "upgraded".

Doesn't mean we should agree.

You assume you know better than an omniscient being. Omniscient beings don't operate on fallible, emotional human morality, homeslice. This is why you guys didn't understand the ending.

That makes no sense. The Catalyst isn't omniscient because it didn't know that Shepard would make it to the point that he did. It isn't omniscient because it didn't have a contingency plan for an eventuality it didn't predict and had to make use of options provided by mere mortals.

Why you would actually argue that it's omniscient is beyond me. You basically just argued that the Catalyst is a god of the magical variety and as a result is a fantasy element in a sci-fi story. We've actually, in general, given Bioware enough credit to assume they didn't go that far off the deep end so you're basically undermining your own position as well as bioware's in the line of thinking you've followed.

The Catalyst deserves a thorough FDISKing...not just from the game but from canon as well.

Why must everyone be so judgemental and serious here, I like them, they're funny and are good for a laugh.

Certainly better than the "blank deserves better ending" ones spammed by everyone and the "shepard deserves better fans" ones, at least this one is original in comparison to both.

Repetion is a necessitation. At this point I'm merely participating at this thread to collect data. You continue to fascinate me. Intriguing.

Oh I get it. You're flirting with me. That's flattering, but I only like big, burly black guys. :P

I thought this thread had been euthanised already? Just let it go gentle into that good night.

(If you want people to take up the banners, maybe put them in the character forum)

......three endings was given to the fans, fair and beutiful creatures..........7 to the dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen and 75, 75 to the race of reviewers who above else desired power.

But all of them where decived........ for another ending was made......

In the land of the crusible, the dark lord starchild forged in secret a master ending to control all others, and into this ending he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to troll all life

One ending to troll them all

One by one the free lands of the fanbase fell to the power of the ending

But some resisted, a last alliance men and elk marched to the slopes of the mt crusible

Victory was near, but the power of the ending could not be undone....

When all hope had faded.

Shepard, son of the king took his fathers omniblade and cut the ending....

Starchild the enemy of the fanbase had been defeated, the ending passed to shepard who had this one chance to destoy the ending once and for all........ but the hearts of men are easily indoctrinated.....

The moral of the story, Marauder Shields was your friend. He was trying to protect you, and you betrayed him.

It's hard to support a character that is shoved in in the last 5 minutes of the game, is completely out of touch with the rest of the series and presents one big "wat".

And is responsible for the most terrible genocide in galactic history, don't forget that part.
