On the contrary, I would assume it's NOT for the EC since this wasn't planned when they first made the game.

'Tis true. I remember being in awe of that tweet and not having the presence of mind to screen grab it.

I believe someone posted a screenshot of it somewhere..

Wait..what..really? Oh brother.

That's a risky PR move that seems to have blown up in their faces spectacularly so far.

The only way the Legendsave file makes sense is if there is something after the destroy ending.

When you beat the game all New Game+ takes you back to pre-TIM's base.  So there would be no need for the Legendsave file for DLC.  Because going to TIM's base locks you out and railroads you to Earth.

No, it was just imprecise wording from @masseffect.

They basically said they always had big plans for ME3. (And they do.)

They weren't actually talking about the extended cut specifically. They were still trying to obfuscate, and people misinterpreted it.

The extended cut was never planned. It exists only because the ending turned out to be such a colossal failure.

I can't understand why anything would be for pre-ending DLC.

It's too early for a new game planning......

The only issue with this is that they allegedly never planned the EC.

It was probably a 'just in case we want to leverage it for future games' idea.

I think this is a fascinating idea, because, if you're going to throw in a plot twist that makes certain choices negative, the problem is that the majority of players will go back and make a different choice.

If the EC forces people to live with the consequences of their decisions....well...wow.
That's another thing that's not really been done before.

Does anyone have multiple LegendSave files from different characters? I'm assuming it's possible to do one per career...

I'm in the middle of playing my ME2 import in a second (this time insanity) playthrough with (hopefully) this time saving both Geth and Quarians. I hope I'll be able to finish it soon, but...hard to play regularly when you got your bachelor's thesis to write...

BTW, awesome that the game crashes if you delete the legendsave.

Bioware, if all of this is indeed as it seems thanks to TSA_383: <3

Im afraid I have no LegendSave on my PC to share with you.
But as soon as they get Masseffect3saves.com up and running there will hopefully be plenty of save files to choose from Image IPB

When exactly the game crashes if you delete that file? At the scene of the spacewinter wallpaper with the kid talking about "The Shepard"?

Yes,me3 EC dlc was planned long time ago, even in 2011 someone said that end wont be on disc but in DLC+at twitter were things about if we knew what theyre planning we should take our copies forever etc...but that thing about legendsave is interesting ...i found that my save (red survived) got endgame state-not finished insted of what we saw in ME2 save ,but theres flag for completed game ,thats weird .

Just opend the file in the gibbs file editer and its just a copy of a save just before you attack cerby.

If you load the NG+ then you start after your decision on the Citadel. So I would assume that this file is used for post-end DLC.
What puzzles me here a bit is that if I start with the Earth-level and do all the beam,Citadel stuff, then the order of the mates which leave the crashed Normandy is verce verca to the order when I load the NG+

The Legendsave contains the situation before you attack the Cerberus base. It seems that it is created after your first completation of the game. If you delete or rename it, then you receive a black screen after the end of the game.

Haha indeed it would be awsome if the force the player to live with their decisions. I have 4 completed legendsaves, I'll send them to you as soon as possible. :D

It contains all the information for that, yes, but they're not the same, as a simple hex comparison will verify.

Some very interesting points in this thread and I still don´t know what to believe.
Did we get the right and only ending, or did BioWare shipped an unfinished game? Both side have good and plausible points...

Anyway, here is my Legend Save. It is from my secon playthrought, first I picked Synthesis, because this time I saved the geth, but it was so awfull, I reload and choose destroy, but I don´t think it overwrite the save file.

I take it then that you won't be very happy if the EC forces you to go with the consequences of your initial decision? :pinched:
