Its High EMS... I honestly couldnt tell you. Just load it up and run to the war room real quick. Its 3 games worth of what I considered ethical paragon work with every single assignment done. So whatever the max is minus a few hundred maybe?

So, who's gonna pick which choice with Xellith's save?
I could take the burden on me and pick Synthesis.

The legend save makes no sense unless there is something after the ending.

How can you incorporate you're choice into the game for DLC pre-Cerberus base, when you didn't even make that choice yet?

Not to mention, how do you incorporate the choice for a pile of ash that Shepard becomes after choosing destroy or synthesis if taking the endings at face value?

Sweet - I can take control/destroy but I need to do some multiplayer first to have enough EMS.

I'll post in the IDT thread and see if two people have enough.

Maybe the save file keeps all of the major choices you made to change the universe of games to come.

All future mass effects are now people with glowing green eyes if you choose synthesis!

Just loaded that save, yeah the LegendSave was created when I chose to attack the Cerberus Base... still doesn't make much sense as I know it was at least once overwritten for me when I finished the game.

So, I have a question. Even after using my character for NewGame+ and choosing another ending, it won't affect my legendary save? (Like first i pick synth, then destroy, synth counts?) If yes....well, tat' a bummer because my Infiltrator so bad-ass, with every quest from ME1 to ME3 done, with the best outcome and yet. . .the chose. Damn.

NewGame+ is the only way to get a new LegendSave I think, someone posted that they got a new overwrite that way, since it's effectively a new playthrough/character.

Hm, just looked at when my LegendSave was created and last modified on my first playthrough:
created and last modiied on the moment I started the attack on the Cerberus Base. No modification anymore.
Have only started a NG+ with it but not finished yet.

It follows, it doesn't have my end choice recorded, prob. only my EMS before the assault.

My LegendSave was also created upon the attack on Cronos. And since I chose....Control it wasn't modified later on.

If this is the case, I'm going to have to play this whole game again with my FemShep who confusedly chose synthesis the first time (before I reloaded and went destory).

I refuse to get stuck with the consequences of synthesis if there's more to come regarding this game.

That would be an interesting way to make your choices have a serious impact.

Im gonna play through using my save 3 times tomorrow (ive backed it up on my computer or can just dl it again). Gonna see if it updates at the end of each conclusion.

But what exactly do we know about it so far? Can we get a summary post?

Ok NG+ playthrough.

Legend Save generated at:
Docked at Cerberus HQ. Hackett conversation started. After the conversation ended after selecting "we attack now". The game loads for the final romance scene with your LI. In my case Tali. As soon as the romance scene loads there was a "saving game" notification in the bottom corner. This created the LegendSave.pcav.

----

My first Destroy Game I had 5862 EMS with 70% Galactic Readyness Rating.  Got no Breath Scene. I then loaded this same file up but edited the EMS score .  I then went back to the catalyst and picked the destroy option.  I DID get the breath scene - So I know my game was edited correctly.  The game did the stargazer scene and then put me back on the normandy.  I ran back to the War Room to check my EMS score. The game said that my EMS was 5862.

From what I tested - The game basically saves all your data on a new file just before you launch your attack on the Cerberus Base.  In my case at  22/05/2012 at 13:24pm.  The game will then load this data after your ending cutscene.

This is the legend file.

I even loaded up my game again and this time deleted my Legend Save.  As predicted - the game went to a black screen after the credits and whatnot.

This file has nothing to do with Extended cut or ending DLC as far as I can figure.  Its just used so that you can continue to load extra DLC for your "filler content" before you get to the end.  As far as I can figure.

Legend File Mystery Busted.

No breath because your EMS wasn't enough?

How can you incorporate you're choice into the game for DLC pre-Cerberus base, when you didn't even make that choice yet?

Not to mention, how do you incorporate the choice for a pile of ash that Shepard becomes after choosing destroy or synthesis if taking the endings at face value?

I can see two obvious possibilities:
  • Future spinoff games, where Shepard is indeed an old Legend - maybe at around Stargeezer time, or something. Maybe with a certain Shadow Broker still around somewhere, too. How that would handle the disparate face-value outcomes, I am not certain.
  • ME3 DLC where you play as other characters, maybe war assets - even strategy stuff perhaps, while Shepard is doing the whole thing recorded in the save. Why did Joker abandon Shepard? -Play him and see. Not unheard of; The first Half-Life game had a few spinoff titles (different developer, on a license), where you played various other characters going through the events of the original, picking different paths through the place.
  • EDIT: Then there is, of course, the whole Indoctrination Theory angle, which I happen to favour myself, but see fervently contended. :)

Why didn't you get the breath scene with 5000+ EMS? And then got it after a second try on the same save?

It was the same save but I edited the EMS score by adding a few extra 0's to one of my assets.  (so I didnt have to multiplayer lol)  Not sure on the requirements for the breath scene but the EMS I listed is what I had.

Maybe EMS is not the only thing that contributes to the breath scene. Or EMS is stored in multiple places.
