stealth- It's said how beneficial this is, but how? It doesn't seem to increase my damage any. A backstab is a backstab it seems. How does this benefit me in combat?

item set bonus: What is the exact bonus this gives? I can't seem to tell any difference.

Stealth is a utility skill, it allows you to sneak up on enemies or scout locations orpick tactical positions to wait while your tank draws attention (like behind a Mage). Furthermore it breaks hostility, if youtime it correctly you can disappear and stop being attacked until you so choose. It also has the benefit of a guaranteed hit, if not 100% then at least very close to it making moves like arrow of slaying penalty to attack negated.

As for item set bonuses the items themselves tell you their bonus in the description. It will have a description about the item and is usually followed by 'if worn with the gloves and boots it will give a bonus to defense and skills will cost less stamina' or whatever. Read the descriptions to know what to watch for then examine the effects accordingly.

Hope that helps.

I believe it works on (most) non-humanoids.

Why wouldn't it work on females? If you know the anatomy you should know that such a hit can potentially be nearly as painful to them as to males.

Stealth is more or less useless but here are its few uses

1.If you plan on soloing the entire game as a Rogue , then its completely mandatory you have stealth

2.Other that point #1 right there , the only thing its REALLY any good for is to drop aggro from yourself if you are getting owned

For item set bonuses refer to : http://dragonage.wik.../wiki/Item_Sets

Maybe it's a difficulty preference but your right stealth is rather situational. When I was using it I had a party of dw rogue, leliana bow, alister tank and wynne pure healer. With little to no way of controlling mages I opted to use stealth much more and being a cunning rogue never had it fail (except against the high dragon...not that I needed it...).

So I guess it might only be viable if you don't have Mage lockdown... But even then it still comes in handy vs. Multiple archers or if you want to get off a few arrow of slaying.

I don't think its a difficulty thing , I did a nightmare Rogue playthrough and they had stealth 4/4 and I found it useless except for rare occassions of having aggro on me

Setting traps never seemed to do jack squat , a freeze trap would do like 2 dmg and then they all either resist freezing or unfreeze in 1 second flat , once a white named weenie genlock ran right through a claw trap of mine and resisted the trap

I could go on and on but even with master trap making , like 60 cunning , the traps all seemed more or less useless novelties

Much quicker to just tear through the mobs stabbing them in the face than it is to try to over complicate things , the traps are ridiculous
