So there are quite a few LZs that I feel need adjustments. Many of which need to be moved to a different location entirely. Some of them are in the worst possible, most undefensible locations. Aren't military leaders supposed to take things like this into account when planning operations? In my opinion some need to be moved.

Also, they need to get rid of the circle and make it the whole area. For anyone that doesn't know what I mean here are some images and this is just one example.

Some maps need better LZs all together but all of them would benefit from the above improvement. This can also be said for download objectives. The circle just seems lazy.

So you want the game to be made easier?

Tbh I like it as it is. Hacking on Reaper/Gold/Condor can be amazing.

You're going to be overrun no matter where the LZ is, and that is the point of the final wave. You have to stay away from the LZ as to lead the horde away from it, and when they start coming after you the team should slowly make it back so you get there in the last 10-20 seconds. I honestly don't know why people prefer to die because they refuse to move from the LZ even before Wave 11 starts. I've gotten kicked a couple of times before because I refused to die with the rest for whatever ungodly reason.

It's fine the way it is, people just have to not be stupid about it. They could add a few more places for extraction to make it random and more interesting, but they have to be somewhere a shuttle can "land."

Yep, LZs are so awful that on Gold it's impossible to survive the whole of wave 11 inside it, you basically have to camp somewhere else and then run in at the last second.

I don't know why, but i got a good laugh at the whole right side of firebase dagger being the LZ zone.

But you don't have to defend the LZ. In fact, the best way to defend it is by running the enemies off to a different part of the map, then moving to the LZ at like 20 seconds or so....

I laugh everytime we extract and all the enemies just magically die.

Be an easier single player if you just set an extraction timer.

Get to the LZ = Get your ass as far away from it as possible

Profoundly telling of new-to-gold peeps when they mass in the LZ and get overrun with a minute left.

All that said, I'm going based on whats logical not what makes the game harder. Leaving little slivers out of obvious parts of the LZs for no other reason than they were lazy and just made it a simple circle (same goes for DLs) is a bit shameful.

Then there's the point of illogical LZs in that most have no cover whatsoever. Yes you can run to the other side to draw the enemies away but no military force would ever be stupid enough to do something like that and no military leader would be stupid enough to pick an LZ that the unit can't defend.

For me it just comes down to what makes sense given the situation presented.

@Cosmo: Yeah I may have made that bit a tad large but it really comes down to how far should be able to be. I mean seriously, the way it is, The end of ME2 should have been a game over because Shepard was too far away from the Normandy.

Oh, what's wrong with my blueberry? ; )

I'm going to make more images showing what I feel would be good LZs for all the remaining maps. I'll have them up soon.

Btw, to try and convey what I consider to be my most important point and to try and disporove the "it's fine the way it is" point, I present this image.

Image IPB

So, you mean to say that it's logical, and a good thing, that if I'm standing in that little sliver I don't get full extraction?

That little sliver is where the Kodiak lands. We don't want your blood to splatter on our windshield.

LZ is not for you to sit in for the whole eleventh wave.
You start running there around 0:30-0:40. Then you'll have the chance of getting full extraction.
If a whole team would sit there on gold all the time... correction: such a team would not make it till 11th wave...

Please have that in mind.

For Reactor the LZ would stop at the base of the stairs. Just allows for tht to be used as cover.

For Glacier I'm a bit iffy on adding the stairs to the LZ.

For Hydra those are 3 different options. The last being where it is now just expanded a bit.

For Condor, I wasn't really sure. Logically I would think the area by the pipe or the drop off zone (the DZ would just need the addition of some form of cover).

T-UP. I'd also like unconcious(revivable)teammates in the LZ zone/circle to count as alive.

If the LZs consisted of some reasonable cover that would be less of a problem.

I don't think that the concept is too hard to grasp. ;)

This thread is lol-colored. Nice effort from OP but the more pictures posted the more it shows these were fairly arbitrarily chosen. And the rest posting here are correct. You simply cant defend most of them on gold. If it had been "Get to the HQ! Hold the line!" Well different design - different story.

If they were arbitrarily chosen then it was BW that did it. Most of them are just the LZs in the same places they already are just expanded so that slivers aren't left out. Also to add some much needed cover.

Hydra however, has a couple of options because the place where the LZ is now is ridiculous.

The others that have two images are just to show another angle.

On most maps, there's plenty of cover outside the landing zone. Just stay the f**k away from the LZ until the last 20-30 seconds.
