I was playing as an evil character and didn't take Dared, Brother Maxil and the adveturers as anything more than comic releif. I told them thatthe Mere wasn't really dangerous. I found them waiting for me in Merdelain and they wiped the floor with me.
What is the best way to go about killing them (I don't want to waste magic brfore the Nightwalker and reavers. Also- what the heck are they? They can't be liches and wouldn't have all that magic if they were shadows.
Made mistake with Dared, Maxil and adventurers and paying for it

They're Shadow Adventurers, of course. What else would they be?
(p.s. I've been toying with the idea of spawning a Zombie Lorne in the Keep lately)
As for taking them on - I only ran into them a couple times when they spawned incorrectly (the originals never died) but I don't remember them being separate from the other shadows. Maybe you should just charge into that corner and group them together with the others and let loose everything.

I was thinking that's what they are supposed to be, but I never have heard of it. I usually try to only use spells on the nightwalker and shadow reavers, as I don't know if it's possible to beat them without it. The three of them appear after I go through the first shadow portal.

You know, you can rest there ... eventually ... and get your spells back for the big guys. In fact, you haven't truly experienced the delights of the KOS' hospitality until you've tried to get a good night's sleep.

I haven't found a spot where I can rest until I defeat the three reavers- and I am using a Wizard, along with Qara, Zhajeve and Ammon (who doesn't need rest). I am heavily banking on spell use. Isn't the little room before you fight Garius, the only place you can rest?
By the way- I killed off our fun little trio of adventurers and the Nightwalker, but I couldn't run past the mummies into the Reaver room- they were very stubborn and blocked the entrance.......after they killed most of my party, I called it a day........

You can rest anywhere. On the third or fourth (or fifth?) try, you won't be attacked.
(edit) By the way - why is Qara there with your wizard? You need a meat-shield. I recommend Elanee - she can do something Casavir just can't do, and Khelgar can't either unless you bought a certain item and left him a fighter. The key is in the Druid spell list (level 8, I think).
(edit again) Also, this pattern of being attacked repeatedly while trying to rest but eventually succeeding holds up in undead-infested temples, tombs, and crypts all across Faerun. The attacks seem to exhaust the local spooks and the Dark Powers have to reach out and scare ... er, round up some more.
