Diablo 3 will devolve into someone unlocking the cow level and people will ONLY play games where there's a cow level involved. All for that elite unique Windforce bow or whatever will be the super awesome elite uniques that will be in D3. That's what happened to D2 at the end of its life... all cow level all the time.

Well they eventually patched the game so the XP and drop rate on cows was really crapified, hoping that would solve the problem.  Of course, then people just went to the next best level which was Chaos Sanctuary and started only doing that all the time.  If you did anything else, you'd get called "gay" or "n00b" because you did something that wasn't as good as cows/Chaos.  And of course, you suck unless you have that one item that you mentioned, that is supposed to be super hard to get, but that everyone has because they run bots 24 hours a day and get them all the time.  Then you become a n00b if you don't have a perfect roll of said item. *sigh*, sometimes I wonder why I played Diablo 2.

Seriously hate to break it to you, but D3 is not going to be up to snuff. So much was cut from the game to make it quicker to release that it isn't a worthy sequel. I'll be waiting for Torchlight II.

funny how that sounds, reminds me of ME3's appearance after ME2.

I can't be bothered to play on a PC no matter what the game is

I work at my PC I am not going to live in this office and I'm not buying some laptop for a game
Plus I can't stand using a keyboard to move around now, ever.

?

What was cut? Pvp won't be available at launch due to it not meeting blizzards expectations but it will be available in a future patch. Rmah is only delayed the first week, not that it matters.

I thought OP means they're going to give out victory and commendation packs tonight and there will be a few screw ups (as is tradition).

Diablo 3 beta was pretty aweful tbh. And I was really hoping for it to be good and trying to like it. Might give it a chance at some point but not right away.

I am sure awarding victory and commendation packs will be a quick and painless experience that doesn't cause people to lose their online pass for two days.

Don't worry, you don't need to defend your questionable decisions in matter of electronic leisure.

I sincerely mean this: Have fun with D3 folks. I know I probably would be if they hadn't replaced my dear Poison+Bone Necromancer with WoW classes :P

With that said, I'll obviously still be here, happily killing reapers with big guns. I love Mass Effect too much, the only thing that would likely usurp my longterm interest in the ME3 mutliplayer would be another Mass Effect title with multiplayer.

Are you suggesting that Diablo III takes no tactics or strategy to play? If so, I doubt that's true. I've yet to play a Blizzard game that would fit that description.

Alternatively, Diablo III will have more than eight maps. ;)

Yes, the gameplay felt kind of dumbed down.

I'm not too worried about the maps in ME3 although more wouldn't be hurt. I've stopped ME3 for the same reason I won't play D3.

ME3 was interesting to me, it wasn't the typical PvP FPS game that is ooooh so popular. I've played enough of those that they all blend toghether and become the same game. Powers, coop... Was nice, and I enjoyed myself but as every game you get bored.

To me, D3 feels like all the uninteresting parts of a traditional hack slash game put into a shiny box. The only thing that seems nice is being able to change your characters abilities on the go.

Obviously there's plenty of interest in D3 so it's just me that finds the game dumbed down so a child can learn D3 before they can walk. I enjoyed games before when developers were experimenting and being innovative. Some games with huge complexity were made and I really enjoyed that.

Fewer games like that are being made today, more studios are developing games with a proven concept with small changes done. I want new stuff! Stop cloning!

It's like some movies that mindlessly go through things you've seen before and has been overdone, offers nothing new...

Horror: Teens come toghether due to holiday/party/etc and get killed off one by one by a silly bad guy and then one or two survives alternatively everyone dies then you go look under your bed if the ugly bad guy is there before you go to bed. The end.

Romance: Boy/girl meets boy/girl, love happens, crap happens, love happens the end. Alternatively: A shallow girl annoys the crap out of you and acts like a brat, makes a big deal about the biggest problem in their life which is to decide which shade of color on the lipstick they should use then you turn it off and realise your friends tricked you.
Comedy: A tomato walked down the street, poo was hilarious, and a dog humped something and someone did drugs. The end
Action: bang bang*100000000, the end.

Linnear, predictable and offers nothing new. But I'm a cranky cynical guy, I was actually pleasantly surprised by ME3 as I expected less. Only thing I was disappointed with was that the quarian sentry turret wasn't anything like the cerb engineer turret. Meh!

What's Diablo 3?

No, but seriously I don't have a pc that could even run if I wanted to play it, which I don't. PC games are generally speaking more trouble then they are worth to me anyway. You have to buy a pc every couple years to keep up with the games it seems. I'll still be on my PS3 playing this, till something better comes along. ^_^

Correction, this game will lose a huge number of players for a few days while they storm through Diablo 3, then have them all back again with hollow looks in their eyes because Diablo 3 can not possibly live up to their expectations.

I'm waiting for them to give an actual release date before pre-ordering the game, but I plan to pick up GW 2 as well.

Is there PvP in the game? I miss killing my friends.

There is a significant PvP element. Though I must admit I am more interested in working with my friends to kill complete strangers.

No word on an official release date yet. I hope to see you there.

Less elitists and whiners complaining about known issues that'll eventually be fixed.

Uhhhh, they released a dlc before known issues were fixed. About to be a 2nd.
Have fun waiting?

I can dream, can't I?

Actually I'd rather not, I usually dream about some big guy singing about soup outside my bathroom window. :?

Attributes and Power trees.

You still have to make choices with regards to which skills you will use at any given time and lose buffs if you're changing them around all the time which discourages the whole I'm just going to change my skill set to match each battle crowd.

So what exactly did we lose in that regard?

With respect to attribute points it's kinda the same thing. 90% of class X was ALWAYS going to dump into attribute X so what exactly was lost in the process?

This kind of stuff reminds me of when people complained about DX:HR supposedly getting dumbed down. Yeah, because putting points into friggen SWIMMING was soooooooooooooo much fun in the original. There actually is a difference between streamlining and dumbing down.

Even though I really want to play it, I don't have time right now for the addictive time-suck that Diablo III will be. Too busy with school/work/life, so I'll be sticking with ME3 for the time being.

Both useless. Stats without respec gave so much room for failure. And there was always a proper way of pumping stats for your build.

The talent tree made you ignore so many cool abilities just because they were on the lower end of the tree. Synergies didn't completely solve that issue either. There was always the best build just like with stats.

If you're going to condemn something for being useless, a game forum is probably the wrong place to do it. Games are meant to be fun, interesting, engaging, or challenging, but they're rarely useful.

In ME 3 MP, I've created a Human Sentinel with no Tech Armor and one with six points in it. They played quite differently. That choice might not be 'useful' to some but the reason I play RPGs is that they give me those type of options.
