EVERYBODY LISTEN UP:
I think a lot of you are jumping to conclusions and getting upset over nothing. Really, very little has been told to us. Also, for those thinking the 1.9 gb means that it will be a massive DLC, not neccesarily true. That 1.9 gb has content specific for many playthroughs. So a specific Shepard may only experience 200 or 300 mb of that content. So, I don't think it really means that there will be gameplay, and the cinematics will probably be around the 10 to 15 min range. Certainly less than what I'd hoped. But still, it could be awesome.
Merizan's statement in regards to the memory:
https://twitter.com/...317286460559364But has the IT been disproven? Most definitely not. If anything Bioware continues to remain vague about it. And why? Merizan said that the EC won't directly confirm the IT, but that we will get to decide its validness. Also, she said most of the content (I find this odd) will take place BEFORE the beam. So... they DID change the end missions? Hmm. Why else unless they had something to EXPLAIN. Seriously, if the IT isn't true, we only need extensions of the END, not the missions. HOWEVER, if the IT is true, then it would make complete sense for Bioware to go back and plant even MORE hints and try to infer the IT even more thouroughly.
Perhaps this was their goal all along with the EC. I recall Arian's blog, which pretty much pin pointed this. They intended IT, but did not intend the EC. In other words, they expected more people to 'get it', and yet many did not.
It is quite possible and even likely that all of this 'pre-beam' content will be scenarios/events that further suggest the IT. Bioware doesn't want to just say, "HEY YOU'RE INDOCTRINATED, HURP DERP!", that would not be 'artistic'. What they CAN do is make things a little clearer, a little more defined, and clue us more on what is ACTUALLY happening.
This is just my interpretation of what what might happen. I personally think its very likely, but I'll leave it up to you guys to determine whether my point is a valid one or not. I just see no reason why we would need pre-beam content to explain the post-beam nonsense unless it had something to do with further fleshing out the whole 'Shepard is fighting off indoctrination' subplot. I mean, what else is there to add pre-beam? How can you explain space magic and star child BEFORE you even encountert them, without the IT? I mean... really.
Also, I find it weird that Merizan said most of the new content will be pre-beam, but also said no new combat will take place. Well... then what the hell will happen pre-beam? Almost ALL of that is combat and dialogue.
Either way, things will be interesting tuesday. But don't dig your graves yet, boys. Nothing has been denied or confirmed, as usual, and so none of you should be losing hope. 4 more days.
Either it will be amazing, or it will suck balls. I highly doubt the latter. Bioware knows this is win or lose. I expect great things. Though I will not get my hopes up. I expect greatness out of Bioware, but I will not hold my breath.
Regardless, be encouraged because of what I've said. I hope I was able to offer a little light. Just keep positive, mates. No reason to despair.
