Guys, I just realized that no matter what happens, we have been victorious. BioWare has officially deemed IT a "great theory."

Huzzah! :innocent:

Well I think the hardest evidence on top of everything in the game was the sound effects, with the dreams, but more then that the... what was it the ultrasound or such that was sprinkled about as the codex describes as part of indoctrination. So Im holding that line. I just hope they do not simply leave it unanswered. But who knows maybe they will give much more solid evidence to IT with the EC that we need to unearth.

I've changed my stance on IT and honestly hope that you folks are able to maintain your theory to the extent that it suits your desire for a better ending.  I think the EC may leave room for that, but it doesn't look like you're going to see it play out like you'd hoped (see Merizan tweet: EC will not confirm IT).  If they throw out a few nods and winks to allow the theory to continue, will that be enough?  I'm genuinely curious...do most of you need a definitive answer or are you ok with IT staying as it is - unconfirmed?

I'm fine with that...
At first, I was pissed the game cut out when it did, because IT was my initial impression...
Like beyond obvious that was what was going on. Right away...

My cognitive dissonance thereafter tore my brain apart a bit, but a little ambiguity isn't a bad thing...

I'm a little dissappointed the EC purportedly isn't a LotSB like expansion with more gameplay, but quite honestly, I don't need it because I already love the ending to Mass Effect 3...

Picture's worth a thousand words, so I'll just say...

*comes in through the front door*

1.9GB! That's a hunk of space for a few cinematics and sequences. And requiring a replay from before the Cerberus base run... with extra emphasis to things already shown. Hmmm.

Well, I guess our cards are out on the table. It'll suck for all of this to come to an end, and boy will the replay through be stressful... I just hope it's worth it.

You know, if I was one to grasp at straws I'd really read into Jessica saying "Its a great theory, but (at least right now) we're not saying more than that." And that's screaming 'wait and see what we have in mind, non-subtle wink!'

Oh, and here's an example for you. Sixth Sense: Directors Cut - Bruce Willis' character is a ghost.

Plots should never be revealed before release. Especially not plot twists. You can say 'but they aren't changing anything!' all you like, because the game was screaming 'Shepard is indoctrinated!' at me quite clearly already.

While I fully agree, I'm going to nitpick Inception, because the ending wasn't actually ambiguous. The top was wobbling, which means he wasn't dreaming.

Is American Psycho good? I thought it looked good, but it's been in my netflix envelope for about 2 months on the piano for about 2 months now.

Also, Donnie Darko is probably my favorite movie of all time.

If I've said it once I've said it a million times... Not good enough.  We need an actual ending.

What I don't get is why won't BioWare follow IT?? Even if it wasn't their plan from the beginning about 80% or more believe that IT was true. (At least before Jessica started putting out a bunch of stuff on twitter) So why not go with the higher percentage?? So I'm fairly certain that to keep getting money EA would make the smart choice in picking IT. Cause pi**ing a lot of people off won't get them any income...

It's been a long time, but if memory serves, The Sixth Sense was a superb example of how to throw a plot twist without ending in a Deus Ex Machina.

That and Book of Eli, although a lot of people didn't get the profound nature of that implication.

One must simply pay close attention to the odd details through the story...

Because it would upset other people.  They want to appeal to everyone.

Quite if it will work remains to be seen.  But being ambigeous seems to be their plan.

Remeber, for a little while after ME3 came out, BW was dropping quite a lot of IT type hints, then, abruptly stopped, and has remained extremely vague, while not dismissing IT ever. Why the change? Because IT was gaining momentum, like this thread, it got itself going, then they didn't need to hint anymore, and are still being vague, so if IT if absolutly confirmed in EC, it will still remain a bit of a twist, even to us ITers. Exactly.

Though the problem is, the guy who did Sixth Sense keeps doing the same story regardless of the movie.  So its lost all potential impact.

But yeah, its about observation and interpretation.

American Pyscho is one of my favorite movies. It's insane, brilliant, scary, intense, and funny all at the same time. One of Christian Bales best performances also.

Pop it in and watch it. It's not too long, and it's intense pretty much right off the bat. I whole heartedly recommend watching it at least once. I've watched it almost 10 times. Faster paced than Donnie Dark. I assume you like the darker side of movies too if you like Donnie darko so i'd say there's an 90%+ chance you'll love american psycho. It's pure mind-f****.

I kinda agree.  I don't want it to be obvious, but I want a proper ending.

That's the vast majority of people here.  The literal ending, as it currently stands, is baaaaaaaaaaaad.

Well, first off people treat Jessica as if she were a prophet. She's been "inaccruate", shall we say, in the past; significantly so.

You know those .gifs and home videos of cats going berserk over laser pointers? Yeah, that's basically the relationship between the BSN and Bioware Community Figures.

No. Stop right there. Saying the literal endings are bad is like saying the core of the sun is a little warm. There comes a point when an understatement becomes sugar coating, and sugar coating becomes falsehood, and a falsehood becomes so great that it begins loops back around into being truth in an act that may well rip the fabric of reality as we know it. Who knows what would pour forth from such a sunder? Perhaps some grotesque mockery of that which we know as life, beings neither living nor dead yet both, that which devours hope itself in a futile attempt to sate its eternal gnawing famine. Perhaps. So please. Please. Don't sugar coat it.

Well, I'm devastated. It seems pretty clear IT will not be a feature of the EC. I will try and keep an open mind until I play the EC, but my hopes have definitely plummeted. However I just want to say, regardless of what is or is not in the EC, I've had a lot of fun in this forum, and that's because of you good people and your interesting brains. Many thanks for all the intelligent debate and argument- you managed to be even more entertaining than the game itself.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need a very stiff drink.
