I´m wondering how their supposed to clear all this mess up without IT. Your squad would have never left you behind, so I think without IT it still makes absolutely no sense, it will just be the same space magic just clarified -.-

Just a few:

What was up with Shepard's dreams? Why were there numerous indoctrination symptoms taking place if it didn't mean anything?

Why did we hear a Reaper 'growl' when Anderson interrupted Shepard with the child in the beginning? The same 'growl' that is described in one of the novels as what is heard when the Reaper's fail to maintain control over one of their subject's minds.

How the flying f*** did Shepard survive the Citadel explosion in Destroy? Did he just magically float down to Earth unharmed? Don't tell me that that rubble was the Citadel. It was concrete. Why the hell make it look like London if it never was. (can't wait to see this 'explained' in the EC if the IT isn't true)

And what the hell was the purpose of the breath scene to begin with?

That's just a few. If Bioware does not confirm the IT with the EC, then they'll be getting a sh**load of questions from me about their 'artistic integrity'.

I am insulted if they expect me to accept the current endings. They go entirely against the trilogy.

So yeah, if the IT isn't true, or at least strongly suggested to be in the EC, then Bioware and I will have to have a little talk. 

These answers are pretty standard by non-ITers but I will just see what I think it will work without IT

1) Dreams simply represents guilt at war, evidence for indoctrination has been misrepresented; instead, they merely show the encroaching influence of the Reapers on his thoughts in a non-indoctrination way.

2) I've read the novel, nor have I seen the actual quote where it says what happens. What we know is it's a low growl probably Reaper. This growl is due to the presence of Reapers outside, its possibly unusual sound attributed to the fact that there is a change of focus and it is a visual clue of this fact. Furthermore, if the Child were an indoctrinating agent, wouldn't you expect every time he sees the child there would be such a growl?

3) This will have to be explained well, Shepard should have died under ordinary circumstances. He never floated down to Earth. One cannot possibly rule out that it was rubble from the Citadel because 1) we are only given a very brief description of it in ME1 that is never brought up again 2) we haven't seen it in such a state before. In fact if you look around, the Citadel does in fact employ a concrete-like texture. Again, there are few (and I would say no) indicators that he is on Earth and quite a few to say he isn't.

The breath scene, I believe, was a last-minute decision by BW. It meant that players' Shepards could survive if they wanted; you can imagine people being really annoyed if there was no way that Shepard could even have the chance of being alive at the end.

THAT is the very question, imo. And before taking any valid info from her tweets, one needs to first consider, what she means by 'IT'. As we've seen over the pages of this thread, everyone has a slightly different understand of what IT means, for example concesus about where the full blown hallucination starts -- and if at all!

Also, it's not the same like with e.g. Blade Runner: Deckart being an replicant doesn't alter the very core story as IT does for ME3:
If IT is true, and by IT meaning that nothing in the ending has really happened (and thus mattered), the war is not over!
If however, when Jessica is writing IT, means that it was a hallucination, but Shepard's choice still mattered, then the war IS over and IT doesn't have to be confirmed at all for the story to really be over.

So, IT is special with regards to similar story twists in other movies, it's very crucial to agree on what kind of IT everyone's talking about before denying, confirming or promising anything.

The geth pic is pre-rendered cutscene,  because he is not using game software, he is using after effects which means no shepard in this scene, I guarentee it.

There also appears to be the dream foliage texture pack open.

Ugh. Just learned a precious life lesson. Don't google "little girl black hair", not even if you're trying to find a picture that resembles your book's protagonist. Don't. At least not if you're as easy to scare as I am.

Also, I'm kinda relieved that the green light geth doesn't necessarily mean Synthesis. And I'm looking forward to finally seeing a quarian without mask ingame. Even if it's not Tali.

How can the EC remain ambiguous about IT but extend the ending? It's not possible, if the current ending (literal) is extended in any way then IT can't be the case.

All this reminds me of a theory that was thrown around a while ago on here:

EC adds some general clarity and kind of wraps up what happened, while pretty much leaving shepard in the rubble, and maybe adding some more IT hints.

Eventually, a paid dlc would be released that has shepard wake up from indoc and really reveals IT.

I was thinking about the extended cut and the interview last night as I lay in bed. Ugh, that one part where Casey talks about how they were surprized that we assumed the worst from what happens after the endings really enoyed me. Enraged me even. With what was presented to us at the end backed up with the known lore of Mass Effect all we did was jump to the most logical, if not only, conclusion. Mass relays all get destroyed. From the Arrival dlc (which is canon) we learned that if a mass relay is destroyed is destroys a whole star system. Therefore everyone in the galaxy basically is dead. We know Patrick Weekes mentioned in an interview that the Mass Relays did not really get destroyed but merely overloaded. That would have been okay except for 2 things: 1. Starbinger himself said the mass relays would all be destroyed and 2. WE ****ING SEE THEM EXPLODE INTO A MILLION PIECES. With an overload you would expect the relays to just become inert. It all sounds like a pathetic excuse to me. Now let's just say for the sake of arguement that the explosions of the mass relays didn't terminate the galaxy. Without mass relays the forces are stranded on earth and riots, murders, starvation, etc are inevitable from a logical standpoint. How in the **** are you surprised we assumed the worst Casey Hudson!? Please don't pretend the endings were open-ended - as if anything could happen following the events of Priority: Earth. Just 3 days before the EC release and I still feel the need to vent on stuff that has been ranted upon to death. Sorry about that.

So... There's no change. A **** ending, but with 10 minutes of epilogue, then we see Shepard breathing or and some ambiguous bull**** that does not explain anything. Well, IT will be always my final cannon for the series. I will write my own ending. Maybe we should do the same. Write "fan-cannon Mass Effect ending"

No, that can't be the case. Has been confirmed that Shepard can reunite with his crew in EC.

People are also protecting themselves against an hypothetical slap in the face. At least I'm doing that. I believe in IT (in fact, I always thought it was even intended... tho I was more of the kind of people who thought the hallucination was only the end, nothing more), however, I'm preparing myself for a face-value explanation and closure of the series. If IT is true, I will be more than happy. If not... I won't be disappointed.

At least Shepard can reunite with his friends... that's enough for me... I think.
