Mainly because I don't think the books would be that good, especially having heard the comments about the latest one, but I think that's beside the point. Also, I'm not really a comics person
You're missing out then. You wont understand how certain events within the game came to be without reading the books and comics. You don't have anything to lose by reading them. You can ignore Mass Effect Deception if you wish, because it considered noncanon by the author.
I would STRONGLY recommend skipping Deception. That book, put quite bluntly, sucks.

I personally haven't read it. I hear it contradicts the lore badly.

2.It ignores and makes multiple errors of the lore.
3.It has thing in it that makes you question to writer point at all or if he understoood the character or evern seriously though out the actions of the characters.
It's basicly written by someone who nows nothing about the story, lore, or character of ME and the ME books.
It's that bad...So bad that fans made an abriged version just to make fun of it.

You're still downplaying the importance of the books and comics though.
If information from the game directly contradicts something from the comics, playing the game, the former must take precedence
With the exception of Mass Effect Deception, nothing from the books or comics contradict the game's story.
In regard to the comic that says that Shepard destroyed the Batarian Mass Relay, and the game in which it depends on your Shepard, then yes it does contradict

So byne what do we do on Monday do we just talk about II and the EC or do we say goodbye.
I dont see why we'd say goodbye. If the EC neither confirms nor denies IT as Merizan seems to be saying, we can still speculate to our hearts' content.

I personally liked Mass Effect Revelations the most, because Saren is one of my favorite villians in Mass Effect. The book does a wonderful job of showing you just how evil and sadistic Saren is, even before he starts wreaking havoc with the geth.
Revelations takes place before Mass Effect 1. The next book, Ascension, takes place after Mass Effect 1 and after Sheps death. Retribution takes place after Mass Effect 2.

your going to waste time speculating because they throw you a cheap bone by not denying it?
no offense, but PR has you wrapped around their little finger. They want ITers to just deal any plotholes by attributing it to the theory, thus escaping all responsiblity to patch the game's plot IT or not.
At least, thats my speculation.

IT or not, after the EC they arent going to fix any remaining plotholes anyways, so I dont see your point.

Regardless the events of Arrival are canon as stated by the game creators themselves. Those who opt not to do Arrival (Why would you deprive yourself of such awesome DLC?) are not playing a completely canon storyline. Also, where are you coming up with this heirarchy that says the game trumps the books/comics? I challange you to read the books and comics and come back and tell me they do not add to your understanding of Mass Effect as a whole.
P.S. You might learn a thing or two about indoctrination from reading.
