The inaudible sound is actually a really interesting point and an intelligent addition by BioWare. Theoretical? Yes. Proof of indoctrination? No. Then again, gravity is only a theory, so take what I just said how you will.

Rifneno: Even as you jest, just by using the word "us," you imply that you do.

lol denial. Reapers use infrasonic noise in indoctrination. There is no reason for that noise to be in there because it won't play on conventional speakers. HENCE, it is just extra work for Bioware sound techs. Creating sounds none of us would ordinarily hear seems like a waste of time, money, and human resources.

It could just be a bug. Honestly even if the IT was true why would they put a clue that is so subtle that the average player wouldn't discover it without the necessary equipment to do so?

Because they aren't necessarily placing clues for the AVERAGE player.  I don't want to sound arrogant, or anything, but it does seem like IT attracts a certain element that is extremely dedicated.

That sounds oddly familiar.

The anti-IT pro-enders say the same thing. "You just don't understand the complexity of the ending."

That's really ironic since they take everything in the ending at face value like it's a Halo game.

Well yes and no. They just interpret it differently.

To be fair, the pro-Synthesis compendium thread proves that some of the literal interpretations of the ending are just as complex as the IT if not more.

I've read his thread. You have to do a lot of mental gymnatics to believe Synthesis is real in a game that pays close attention to physics. And it has no precedent other than husks and reapers. So there's that....

Still though, on a personal level, I don't like synthesis.  reminds me a bit too much of eugenics or something, not to mention the naive assumption that we know what path evolution is supposed to follow according to giant machine hybrids that are made from organic goo and, if the endings are literal, basically puppets for an AI child...

I never stated, nor implied superior knowledge.  I came in for conversation because I don't think the IT is what actually happens at the end.  The narcissism bit was simply because as I shared a different view, I was bombarded by posts, like your own, that are attempts to be funny instead of discussion.

You came in with an arrogant, aggressive, condescending tone. That is not conversation, that is verbally attacking someone. Learn to communicate like a mature adult.

Actually, no.  I came in with a question and was bombarded with arrogant, aggressive, and condescending posts.  And you're right, that's not a conversation.  Any time I present anything, I get "lol denial," "insert meme here," "we we we, and us us us."  Let me know how to talk to that, and I'll ignore the irony of your last sentence.

Um....isn't that sort of illegal for Bioware to do? Subliminal messaging through inaudible sounds?

Considering that it would be a sensory effect without a direct message, I don't believe it would. But I'm not up to speed on my subliminal message laws.

Plus, whether its legal or not, the infrasound is there. So I dont see what the point is in arguing its legality.

I know, I would just love to know why what we interpret in the game seems to ****** in their Cheerios.

Because it is different from what they think, therefore it is a threat to their perspective, and so they must destroy it!

and lo and behold the cycle of ignorance

Wow. Isn't that what creationists think about believers of evolution?

Why, yes it is....

And vice versa, I might add.

that is why it's a cycle

Let's get this cleared up cause I think you are having a problem with this...Shepard the entire game isn't indoctrinated until he makes his choice at the end. At the end it is where he either gives up his mind to the Reapers or he fights back. Control=become Reaper. Synthesis=everyone becomes Reapers. (This is proven because in Synthesis everyone become's part synthetic part organic. The Reaper's are already this.) So as you admit the VI or the Prothean wouldn't detect Shepard as indoctrinated cause they can only detect if he is or not. And since Shepard so far doesn't see either at the end they can't see if he is after the choice.

Logical Fallacy.

How is this?? Please explain with logic. Synthesis is the melding of organic and synthetic. So how is my statement false? Also it has been proven that Reapers are both synthetic and organic. Thus the synthetic technology and needing of harvesting for organic goo.

Edit: Okay I admit that my statement about the becoming a Reaper specifically was incorrect. However you do become which the Reapers have been trying to do the entire time. A perfect meld between organics and synthetics. You might as well be a reaper cause you are essencially made of the same stuff as the Reapers at that point.

You become part synthetic and part organic, yes, but don't go so far as to say you might as well be a reaper.  As a matter of fact, the synthesis ending makes the reapers obsolete by its very nature.

Complete side note:  The reapers kept referring to the cycle as something beyond Shep's comprehension.  After finishing the game and understanding what the cycle is and what it is for, was the truth closer the being beyond the reaper's comprehension?

No. No. No. To choose synthesis is to AGREE with the reapers. To support their ultimate goal. In no way are you making the reapers osolete. The reapers already believe themselves to be the pinnacle of evolution which means they would most favor an indoctrinated Shepard supporting the idea of synthesis.

I believe that was BioWare's plan. Debate is good for a game. So causing it is good business.

The way you phrased your question, combined with how often people bring it up as if they're the first ones in history to think that Javik/Prothean VI somehow disprove IT came together to evoke the aggressive response you got.

I think you may misunderstand me. I was adding that someone not being an adult is no excuse not to act like one when discussing this stuff. It was not aimed at you, but the one you were addressing, since I realize it is possible that not everyone in this thread is 18.

Did you think I was going after you? If so, I apologize. Not my intent at all.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with him on this, his first post was asking a question and it wasn't really all that condescending.  perhaps it seemed that way since EVERY anti-ITer uses that same question to try and debunk the theory, and we have had to give information that proves that the argument is at best, inconclusive based on actual lore evidence.

So I apologize on behalf of the thread, even if alot of them don't want to apologize, I think it was unfair for us to gang up on you like that.  but please try to understand we've been bombarded by trolls for the last two days since the announced EC, claiming that the theory is dead or whatever and it had gotten alot of us agitated, plus we are just tired of having to answer that same question over and over again, but still that's no excuse for the less than warm welcome you recieved.

I'm not a pro-synthesis guy.

But seriously don't pull the space magic card on this one. Indoctrination is basically mind control with a sci-fi spin on it. Nevermind the sound in space, the space jesus, the mass relays, etc.

Since I'm not a proponent of synthesis I can't fairly debate this one on you. But whenever I do read those pro-synthesis thread I get a lot of religious vibes out of it. All that discussion about evolution is also very stimulating for the mind. So all I'm saying is that it's not really fair to make generalizations about people who don't believe in IT. Just because they don't believe the ending was a hallucination, that doesn't mean they aren't dedicated fans who have thought long and hard about the ending concepts.

To believe that requires one to believe that Star-Brat is actually the creator of the cycle rather than some little, crap filled Reaper punk.  That's something I refuse to believe.
