Fellish.... seriously?

I think you may misunderstand me. I was adding that someone not being an adult is no excuse not to act like one when discussing this stuff. It was not aimed at you, but the one you were addressing, since I realize it is possible that not everyone in this thread is 18.

Did you think I was going after you? If so, I apologize. Not my intent at all.

Being over 18 doesnt automatically make you a mature adult, either.

Not at all.

I've read his thread. You have to do a lot of mental gymnatics to believe Synthesis is real in a game that pays close attention to physics. And it has no precedent other than husks and reapers. So there's that....

People with implants don't count because they are mostly organic.

Synthesis is a logistical nightmare:

Billions of species and mechanical beings must first be defined and identified, due to the vast variables of construction techniques. Simply saying "molecule X will connect to attachment site B" won't cut it. We're talking about a varitable rewriting of both the individual physical and psychological characterists of a being, as well as it's relationship between other synthesized creatures.

For one to be capable of doing that in the flash of an eye is not science, it's godhood.

Which is why it is so hard to have a different point of view.  Perceived inflection doesn't warrant aggressiveness.

No. No. No. To choose synthesis is to AGREE with the reapers. To support their ultimate goal. In no way are you making the reapers osolete. The reapers already believe themselves to be the pinnacle of evolution which means they would most favor an indoctrinated Shepard supporting the idea of synthesis.

Ok, so to be clear, I view the reapers as a seperate entity from the actual creator of "the cycle."  So synthesis would make the reapers obsolete because it ends the cycle, which would mean that the reapers (tools of the cycle) are no longer needed.

the only problem i see with this POV is that starbinger self identifies as being part of the reaper group.

The inaudible sound is actually a really interesting point and an intelligent addition by BioWare. Theoretical? Yes. Proof of indoctrination? No. Then again, gravity is only a theory, so take what I just said how you will.

Rifneno: Even as you jest, just by using the word "us," you imply that you do.

lol denial. Reapers use infrasonic noise in indoctrination. There is no reason for that noise to be in there because it won't play on conventional speakers. HENCE, it is just extra work for Bioware sound techs. Creating sounds none of us would ordinarily hear seems like a waste of time, money, and human resources.

It could just be a bug. Honestly even if the IT was true why would they put a clue that is so subtle that the average player wouldn't discover it without the necessary equipment to do so?

Because they aren't necessarily placing clues for the AVERAGE player.  I don't want to sound arrogant, or anything, but it does seem like IT attracts a certain element that is extremely dedicated.

That sounds oddly familiar.

The anti-IT pro-enders say the same thing. "You just don't understand the complexity of the ending."

That's really ironic since they take everything in the ending at face value like it's a Halo game.

Well yes and no. They just interpret it differently.

To be fair, the pro-Synthesis compendium thread proves that some of the literal interpretations of the ending are just as complex as the IT if not more.

I've read his thread. You have to do a lot of mental gymnatics to believe Synthesis is real in a game that pays close attention to physics. And it has no precedent other than husks and reapers. So there's that....

People with implants don't count because they are mostly organic.

I'm not a pro-synthesis guy.

But seriously don't pull the space magic card on this one. Indoctrination is basically mind control with a sci-fi spin on it. Nevermind the sound in space, the space jesus, the mass relays, etc.

Since I'm not a proponent of synthesis I can't fairly debate this one on you. But whenever I do read those pro-synthesis thread I get a lot of religious vibes out of it. All that discussion about evolution is also very stimulating for the mind. So all I'm saying is that it's not really fair to make generalizations about people who don't believe in IT. Just because they don't believe the ending was a hallucination, that doesn't mean they aren't dedicated fans who have thought long and hard about the ending concepts.

I will admit Ieldra and Jtav and others have put a lot of thought into their alternate theories. I don't agree with them because what they believe violates the themes of the series. I.T. is only icing on the cake. Even without IT, Control and Synthesis still reek of Reaper.

I never stated, nor implied superior knowledge.  I came in for conversation because I don't think the IT is what actually happens at the end.  The narcissism bit was simply because as I shared a different view, I was bombarded by posts, like your own, that are attempts to be funny instead of discussion.

You came in with an arrogant, aggressive, condescending tone. That is not conversation, that is verbally attacking someone. Learn to communicate like a mature adult.

Actually, no.  I came in with a question and was bombarded with arrogant, aggressive, and condescending posts.  And you're right, that's not a conversation.  Any time I present anything, I get "lol denial," "insert meme here," "we we we, and us us us."  Let me know how to talk to that, and I'll ignore the irony of your last sentence.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with him on this, his first post was asking a question and it wasn't really all that condescending.  perhaps it seemed that way since EVERY anti-ITer uses that same question to try and debunk the theory, and we have had to give information that proves that the argument is at best, inconclusive based on actual lore evidence.

So I apologize on behalf of the thread, even if alot of them don't want to apologize, I think it was unfair for us to gang up on you like that.  but please try to understand we've been bombarded by trolls for the last two days since the announced EC, claiming that the theory is dead or whatever and it had gotten alot of us agitated, plus we are just tired of having to answer that same question over and over again, but still that's no excuse for the less than warm welcome you recieved.

*sigh* I'm sorry, but anyone who comes in here and automatically says I.T. is debunked and tries to argue against it without doing the research is fair game.

Hmm, some interesting debating going on here :P, <-- read puerile. Anyway, if we're on the subject of face-value endings has the ethical issue of synthesis been raised at all? Considering there's two other choices, both of which are innocent of not rewriting the DNA of a whole galaxy without their witting participation. Considering the very thing Shepard has stood against since day 1 is the Reapers self-imposed will; their desire to "ascend" us in synthetic/organic form... I feel Shepard would be a hypocrite to essentially do the same, especially when he has two other options.
