Maybe that's how Shep became indoctrinated in the first place. Harbinger aware of Shepard's fixation on collecting model ships decided to hide indoctrination devices inside them. Could explain why Shepo has such whack dreams in his cabin.Starbuck8 wrote...

Oh? I never got an up-close look at those. So this item is probably used in MP missions and as the barrer generators?
I can't vouch for barriers, but in MP they are called "Reaper Indoctrination Device."
Wonder if we also see them on the N7 mission where we collect the reaper artifacts from cerberus?
From what I've seen, I think the things you get from Firebase Glacier are mini-Reaper models. Like one of the Reapers you see in that cinematic in ME2.
Lol is Shep going to put them in his/her model ship collection? No wonder he/she got indoctrinated!

There's a huge leap between controlling the reapers, and controlling reaper husks via signal hijacking or whatever they do. At least that's how it's talked about in game.
Then why do the Reapers perceive it as a threat?

Because then TIM can control reaper troops. It's like not being able to control a General, but being able to control all the soldiers within a certain area. Not good if you're trying to fight a war.

Okay, that makes sense, I guess.
I also realized that TIM was persuing control because he was indoctrinated, so control couldn't be a viable option if the Reapers set him to it, I guess?

Yeah, a fool's errand so to speak. I guess they never expected him to figure out how to control reaper troops though, and so couldn't keep leaving him alone at that point.

I think our main disagreement comes from two places.
First, I truly believe that the reapers were designed solely to preserve organics through harvest. While it also accomplishes self preservation, I believe their original purpose is still their main one: Harvest organics at the apex of their civilation before self destruction to preserve them.
Second, the Catalyst. This is all because of interpretation of what he says. Much the same way that the AI is presented as the boy, a familiar projection from Shepard, he calls himself the Catalyst because that is what Shepard will recognize as what he seeks. When Shepard boards the Citadel at the end, he is under the impression that it is the catalyst (lower case C) to the Crucible becoming the device to end the cycle/destroy the reapers/etc. The AI then introduces himself as the Catalyst (capital C) implying that he (the AI) is actually what Shepard is seeking - specifically, as opposed to the Citadel, which would be generally. While the organics stated that the Citadel is the catalyst to the Crucible, and are not wrong, the AI names himself as the Catalyst as he is aware that he is what Shepard is looking for. Does that make sense?
EDIT: forgot to add that the whole Catalyst argument is why he doesn't have to be lying to call himself the Catalyst as that is him simply going along with what the organics named him.
Another thing: I personally think the Catalyst is not "chained down" by the primary goal of other reapers. This allows him to see beyond the cycle. The reapers can't fathom another option because they only know of the cycle, whereas the Catalyst was probably what created the cycle (ironically - or tragically - an AI that at the conclusion of a synthetic-organic war, decided the only way to preserve the defeated organic life was to harvest it).

Explains why they were all so carelessly left in random places aboard the SR2 to begin with, You'd think the retrofit crew would have just dumped them somewhere. Hmm, maybe when Starbinger/Child is seen playing with the Alliance Interceptor at the start it was just foreshadowing that Shep's model fetish would be his ultimate undoing.Starbuck8 wrote...

Just tried myself and I'm using some dedicated blur-removal/sharpness plug-ins for CS6. I say they've actually lowered the bandwidth of the image and tested to see if anyone can sharpen the image themselves before they posted anything. Which makes me wonder; why tell us anything at all? Why tell us about Joker fleeing from battle? Why show the crew in a memmorial stance? or the "green-eyed" geth with a maskless quarian? There's only days until the EC and I'm sensing some deliberate seeding and control of information on BW's behalf.Starbuck8 wrote...
