I know that a lot of fans (most?) aren't "believers"... but I think that speculation gone so wild (and IT has reached the top in the history of games that i'm aware of), when it is finally disproven, may be very damaging, even if it doesn't affect the totality or even the majority of the fanbase.
They've said repeatedly that the EC will not "confirm nor deny IT" and that if you believe IT, the EC will not change that. We will see what the implications are when the EC comes out.
Thank you for being concerned for us thoughi'm more concerned about the EC being a disappointment
Can you please provide me the source? i didn't knew they said that, i just listened to the interview that was released with the announcement and i don't remember that particular point.
Here are a few from Jessica Merizan's twitter:

I don't agree with you. The EC doesn't have to confirm or deny IT if BioWare's secret plan is to extend the story to another full game (especially if IT is ultimately true and the Crucible is a Reaper Doomsday Device). Waking up from the dream and destroying the Crucible leaves organics with no means to defeating the Reapers so a new campaign is needed to create a new weapon for that. Building the Crucible took the whole game so why wouldn't finding another way took another full game? Plus, I want ME4 within the current story and will pay to play it. Of course, the EC can confirm IT but I doubt that in case of the Crucible being a trap we'll get to finish the fight in the ME3 timeframe. Unless the only thing to do is to uninstall the Reaper core from the Crucible. In such an event there may be the final end to the Reapers in the EC.Rifneno wrote...

They keep saying it will neither confirm or deny, which is good for the community since it allows speculation while adding a bit more closure (or illusion of closure to poor HuskShep - if you follow IT).
No part of that is true. Neither confirming nor denying is literally the worst thing they could do. We've been over this 50,000 times already. Literalists (at least the ones that qualify as sapient beings) hate the ending because it didn't make any sense, not because it didn't provide closure. They took a series that's historically stayed as close to scientifically accurate as sci-fi can possibly be and ended it with an amount of nonsensical space magic that would make Disney writers gag. Indoctrinations can't get closure without IT being outright confirmed because to us the Reapers are still reaping until Shepard gets up and ends them. And while I don't have hard numbers I'd say it's a safe bet that most of us view the Crucible as a Reaper trap. Meaning "Shep fought off the waking nightmare and hit the 'emergency shutdown genocide Cthulhus" button' explanation wouldn't fly. Once again. For the umpteenth time, EC is a massive waste of time if it doesn't address IT one way or the other.
Lastly, AFAIK "they" don't keep saying that. Jessica Merizan keeps saying it. And you must be really new here if you take her word as gospel. I'm sure she's a wonderful lady but you could probably go through her tweets and build a case that Joker is the head keeper and the Normandy is the Citadel from an alternate reality where everyone is a chipmunk.

If they flat out denied IT after all this time, that would be pretty messed up. But they've been very careful not to do that, and we don't think they'll be doing that at all in EC.
Honestly, I'm not sure if I'd prefer they firmly killed IT or left it ambiguous. I just want an answer. I'm starting to just want an answer more than the answer I want to hear. ... That sentence sounded better in my head, but you get the gist I think. I'm starting to wonder if a nonsensical space magic ending would be better than an ambiguous non-ending.

Does anyone remember if the "Shepard moving" scene - comes before or after the scene with the kid and his grandfather?
Timezones do not change time only interpret it. Everybody's going to get the EC for download at the same time (not including those who both own a PS3 AND live outside the US).Golferguy758 wrote...

I have big problems with those tweet. It says pretty much that either, IT is real or that IT is not real and some people will be so retarded that they stick to IT what ever happens. Let me rephrase that into context. Lets say IT is wrong and that the whole EC is actually explanations and variations of the ending. You would have to be brain damaged to still belive in IT. Anyone would really think a major company is gona spend this much ressources on free content to make a vague dream... more logical? So if it was a dream, EC would have more hints of that.... it either confirms IT or not. Theres no way around it, because you dont need to clear a dream sequence logic via an extended cut, its a dream it doesent have to make sense.
Baiscly if they feel the need to show me krogan dancing with turians in a cut scene at the end of EC, IT will be dead. Or else why would be the need of such work for closure just to be not real.

That's right, if someone has a different interpretation of a story then they are brain damaged.
/slowclap
Will the same apply to people who dislike IT if its confirmed either directly or via more hints/evidence?

before.
That Grandfather scene is a true Easter Egg, since it's even after the Credits, moreover, if I remember correctly it's only there if you imported a Shepard.
HellishFiend suggested that it might represent a dialog between Bioware and the players.
Because, assume it were 'real', as in a canon scene between two characters in the future. If you look closely at the 'kid' in the scene, it has the body proportions of an adult human -- some here even think it's Shepard. So that grandpa must be some kind of giant. Therefore, taking the scene not to serious is more rewarding than to assume it were 'real'.
v0rt3x22 wrote...
So in IT terms - if the shepard moving scene comes BEFORE - then that should make the Kid / Grandfather scene not be part of the IT attempt.
