The trolls are still there waiting in the darkness...MaximizedAction wrote...
Now that is what I call an awesome comment.
And I agree that it's a rather troll-free day. Everyone's probably getting their saves ready.

Uh wow, I just started to replay ME1 again and when you first describe the dream/vision/nightmare (the choices you have to answer Chakwas) you hear voices in the background just like the strange voices in the dreams in ME3, the ones where you can make out some of it.

That's interesting, especially considering the beacon was prothean, not reaper.

dreamgazer, so it essence the EC is their second chance to do what they tried to do the first time around: get the narrative right for their ending to be properly speculated.

Why can't it be both?
Leave it open-ended with a hidden message. Then collect fan feedback and incorporate that into a more elaborated version of your speculative ending.

Not nearly all Reapers were on Earth. Though that begs for the question: why didn't they flank? Rest of them emerge through Relays and attack Allied fleet from the rear.
Nevertheless, there are couple versions of space battle cinematics when Reaper forces are engaged. High EMS shows a small advantage (or even footing) for Allied forces, while the low EMS versions shows Reapers decimating the forces.
However, if the theories connected to Crucible are true. It really seems that it must be Reaper goal of some sort, perhaps ultimate test of the species, or otherwise: RIP.

Ah, you're giving me memories of my thoughts about the images and data in the Prothean beacon actually being the "catalyst", and Shepard, in turn, being the catalyst that carried that torch from start to finish.

If they leave it open ended then they might as well have never made the damned thing.
Also everyone you talk with on Eden Prime tells you about the sound when Nazara descended. As if coming from your head and not from it, which would support that the Reaper horns in ME3 could also come from inside your head. You get pretty close to it until it ascends again, much closer then what is needed to Nazara affect the colonists as they said they first heard the sounds in their heads and then saw it. Son of a shisno you're right! That's pretty freaky. Maybe the beacon was "tainted" some how when Saren used it.

So all this was planned from the start then?
Wasn't there a theory that Prothean Beacon on Eden Prime was corrupted by Reapers?

There are different angles IT can take. Reminds me of the tweet Merizan (I know, I know!) said about it. She said IT has different views and maybe EC does help clear those up for some people.
