Now that is what I call an awesome comment.

And I agree that it's a rather troll-free day. Everyone's probably getting their saves ready.

The trolls are still there waiting in the darkness...

Uh wow, I just started to replay ME1 again and when you first describe the dream/vision/nightmare (the choices you have to answer Chakwas) you hear voices in the background just like the strange voices in the dreams in ME3, the ones where you can make out some of it.

That's interesting, especially considering the beacon was prothean, not reaper.

Leave it open-ended with a hidden message. Then collect fan feedback and incorporate that into a more elaborated version of your speculative ending.

If they leave it open ended then they might as well have never made the damned thing.

Son of a shisno you're right!  That's pretty freaky.  Maybe the beacon was "tainted" some how when Saren used it.

(laughs)

Ah, you're giving me memories of my thoughts about the images and data in the Prothean beacon actually being the "catalyst", and Shepard, in turn, being the catalyst that carried that torch from start to finish.

There are different angles IT can take. Reminds me of the tweet Merizan (I know, I know!) said about it. She said IT has different views and maybe EC does help clear those up for some people.

Only if you consider conventional victory impossible.

Which you do if you have any idea the staggering difference in military power.

Not nearly all Reapers were on Earth. Though that begs for the question: why didn't they flank? Rest of them emerge through Relays and attack Allied fleet from the rear.

Nevertheless, there are couple versions of space battle cinematics when Reaper forces are engaged. High EMS shows a small advantage (or even footing) for Allied forces, while the low EMS versions shows Reapers decimating the forces.

However, if the theories connected to Crucible are true. It really seems that it must be Reaper goal of some sort, perhaps ultimate test of the species, or otherwise: RIP.

Hey guys, since the EC comes out tomorrow and I guess to me these are the final hours in this thread, I wanted to compliment all of you.
I´m a long-time lurker and threw some ideas in here and there but compared to what you found out it´s ridciulous. I didn´t agree with a lot of speculations, thought some things only have been overanalyzing etc...But overall I think you can be very proud of yourselves for not being cynical, full of hate and that you believed in something. The IT showed me once again how awesome the fan-base of ME is, these 2 threads probably spared me a lot of depressions.

So now all I can do is thank you for pure awesomness! (especially lexor :D)

lol thanks, this let me see where the picture actually was in relation to Shepards position, I can't see how it could be a glitch and it's strange that from anywhere it could have occured if it was, is directly behind the synthesis beam. You can also see spots of light like suns shining through clouds.

No.  No version of the Sword battle shows the Allied forces on even footing, let alone advantaged.  Best case scenario you see one capital ship lose a couple of tentacles.  They didn't even kill one Reaper from the view we're shown.

So all this was planned from the start then?

Wasn't there a theory that Prothean Beacon on Eden Prime was corrupted by Reapers?

That'd be a cool twist if IT was true, and it's Shepard that is the true catalyst. But then I can't see her/him surviving in any ending lol I take that back.. That would suck.Posted Image

Also everyone you talk with on Eden Prime tells you about the sound when Nazara descended. As if coming from your head and not from it, which would support that the Reaper horns in ME3 could also come from inside your head. You get pretty close to it until it ascends again, much closer then what is needed to Nazara affect the colonists as they said they first heard the sounds in their heads and then saw it. Strange strange.

There is! And I wouldn't see it as far fetched if most Prothean beacons were corrupted by the Reapers. And why shouldn't they? It's a nice method to find the most promising race for future Reapers.

Indeed. It ain't so black and white.

I'm hoping that the EC will serve a purpose similar to that device at the eye doctor, the one with the rotating lenses: it could bring the things you're seeing, and interpreting, more clearly in focus, while adding some closure to the whole she-bang that'll be more palatable and satisfying on the surface.  And that'll hopefully work for everybody.
