No offense, but I personally won't believe anyone got that dialogue in-game unless an actual video gets posted up.

No offense taken, I hardly believe it myself. That playthrough is over three months old anyway.

I read that you can get the full conversation if you never romanced anyone throughout the games, don't know if that's true

Pretty sure thats a rumor. It'd be completely retarded for Anderson to only bring up Shepard having kids if Shepard isnt in a romance.

Yeah, the music was strong with this game. I honestly can't listen to Leaving Earth anymore without tearing up; not because of the boy but the amazing cinematics while leaving earth.

I guess I must be the only one who doesnt like the scene where you leave Earth at all.

"Lets stare out of the ships hangar bay for a few minutes like god damned idiots! Its not like there are Reapers anywhere nearby! Lets just leave the hangar bay wide open! Oh no! The kid I barely knew died! I can tell this is emotional because of the music and because Shepard looks so shocked! Now lets just fly away, like we should have done all along!"

Seriously, **** the leaving Earth scene. Most overrated scene in the game.

I dont even know where that rant came from.

I agree.  While it was nice in some regards, it was foolish considering how many bloody Reapers were in the area.  And none of them fired a single shot at the Normandy.

Say wa?

I still wanna know why the destroyer on Earth didnt even take a shot at the Normandy. If Harby speaks of Shepard, the Reapers all know the Normandy is Shep's ship. You'd think they'd try taking it out.

I remember someone asked one of the devs if the Reapers let the Normandy escape Earth on purpose or not, and they said no.

Well, if the destroyer didnt specifically not shoot the Normandy to allow it to escape, the only real explanation I can think of is that the destroyer never existed in the first place.

Mike Gamble answered that one; and the question was, whether that Destroyer let the Normandy escape.

And yes, the Destroyer not being real is a good explaination.

I would say it's because of the Reaper IFF

Unless it's indicative of Shepard regretting not having someone to have kids with.  You know, since the scene takes place in Shepard's mind. ;)

Either that or it was in stealth mode.  Though quite how blind Reapers are at that range I can't say.  And regardless, wouldn't the fact its got its hanger open sort of ruin the stealthiness?

So did you guys cry anywhere during the game?

Let me answer my own question - I cried in several parts. I don't remember exactly all of them - but one was Liara's Gift (if she's your paragon LI throughout the entire series).
That was so.....beautiful :crying:

That part and her little project, the final goodbyes part in general with all of your squadmates, Mordin's sacrifice, Thane's death and the flashbacks walking to the destroy tube were all pretty much streaming tears, then my eyes watered the tiniest bit at Legion's death, Grunt's heroic standoff, VS being bashed, Samara's almost suicide and the first time I played I teared up as you fly over Earth when you leave and it shows the Reapers invading. Also, unhappy to admit that when I played the demo I teared up a bit when the childs shuttle got downed... Ohh how much I've learned haha.

What can I say, I'm emotional.

I do think that Liara's gift if she's your LI at the end was probably the worst of the lot, why did you have to go all dramatic on me with no hope? Why did my whole squad do it for that matter?Posted Image

One of my Sheps didn't romance anyone and got the non-cut one. In the cut one Anderson mentions that he never had a family which is true: he had a wife and has a son, so that scene kinda breaks the lore

It's small side-plots like Charr's poetry and Joker's sister that make Mass Effect so amazing.

The PTSD asari conversation in the hospital is still one of my favorite narrative parts of the game.

Mine too. Furthermore I think she's speaking about Joker's sister.

the whole beginning part was terrible IMHO

I liked the little scene between Shepard and Anderson at the end when he reinstates you. other than that, yea.. The dialogue was pretty dumb.

On my second playtrough I cried at the very begining of the third game, when I heard "Leaving earth" because; Shepard was back and I knew that he is gonna die soon...
And yeah saying goodbye to Garrus also brings tears to my eyes.
PS. I don't know why, but I also keep crying everytime i see the ME2 launch trailer   (especially at 1:33) :crying:

Depends on if the EC is good or not. If the EC is good, I'll be fine with it, if the EC sucks, IT will remain my personal head canon, because I think it fits better with the ME universe than the literal endings do.
