Since it's slow right now, I'll just mention this.

My boyfriend is finally playing his first ME3 playthrough, unspoiled. Sometimes I can't stand watching him play because he skips dialogue sometimes (on a first playthrough, how could youuuuu) and other things lol. Anyway, when he gets to the vent boy scene, he says "your hallucinating Shepard!" and then when he gets to the 2nd dream he says "oh no, am I being indoctrinated? I am, aren't I?" I'm like =] trying not to say anything!

Wth, how does he notice this on a first playthrough. I feel dumb.

Dreams in fiction are never just dreams, besides Bioware has a habit since BG 1 to use dreams for story purpose.

I don't remember what my thoughts were on the first playthrough when I saw those dreams though.

Mike Gamble just said EC is releasing 2am MST. That is different from PST...correct..? <.<

In any case, that is 2 and a half hours from now. Or 3, if you account for XBL marketplace wiggle room.

If I'm not mistaken, that's mountain standard time so it's actually in a minute officially. Posted Image

Probably similar to mine. I was like:

Huh?
*wakes up*
Oh, ok... back to work!

And then there's that part with Ash/Kaidan after Citadel II where they ask Shepard how you fight something that worms its way into your head like that, and the camera really zooms in on Shepard while she answers.

Foreshadowing, much?

Aside from direct foreshadowing like that, there is also a ****-ton of indirect foreshadowing via symbolism and theme. I highlighted as much of it as I could in my Choose Wisely video. If I had to pick one that stands out the most, it would be Sacrifice. Sacrifice is highlighted as a virtue in the name of a greater future numerous times throughout ME3.

Bottom line is, Destroy is the only option that does not violate a single one of the established themes. The other two choices violate them ad nauseum.

With how much direct AND indirect clues that point towards the conclusion of IT, it shocks me to think that anyone still believes in the literal interpretation.

You did a great job on it, by the way. Turbo, too. I may have been moved to tears.

And yeah, I just finished Cerberus HQ earlier and what EDI talks about that leads to her altering her self preservation code (the people outright defying the reapers in the containment camps and feeding them wrong information to help others escape) is a great example of that.

I'm actually glad now that I took the last few days to do a second playthrough. Pretty much left me without a doubt or worry for how the Extended Cut will go. And of course reading discussions here helped, too( read as: a lot). Not to be cheesy, but I love you guys.

Posted Image Ahh! My mind is always geared to EST for show times 'cause I'm in the CST timezone. I got it backwards; MST is an hour behind me. Sorry if I got some people too excited.

Im trying :P
Im also going to be intrested on how me not buying any DLCs (and therefore noot interacting with objecrt Rho) will effect my playthrough, Seems like it'll be intresting seeing as to me that apears as the greatest area to be exposed to indoctrination aswell as their experiments while your out cold.

I still say Cerberus used Reaper tech when rebuilding Shepard.  Why else would Miranda complain about all the black boxes on Project Lazarus?  And of course lines like Anderson talking about how well Cerberus rebuilt Shepard, Paul Grayson, and Kai Leng.

My gf is a noob to gaming, so I usually play games "for" and she watches for the story.

We were doing a full renegade playthrough and when it came to ME3, there were some really beautiful moments that you had to be paragon for, and I was trying to explain to her, but she just wanted to get more scars and a full red bar...I was like "YOU'RE KILLING ME!" :crying:

We got into a decent sized argument when Thane died and she refused to let me pray with Kolyat. I had had enough. :pinched:

And because someone has to since this came up...

YOU ARE TEARING ME APART MASS EFFECT 3!!!

But that is something that the VI actually should have picked up on...right?

Nah. Arrival may be canon lore-wise, but it's definitely possible for it not to have happened in any given playthrough.

Well, picture someone buying the game for the first time next month. To see what all the fuss is about. They download all the available DLC (including the EC), and do their first playthrough, spoiler free. They get to the final stretch, starting with Cronos, now what would Bioware prefer them to experience first? The EC that spoils the true nature of the ending? Or the original ending that preserves the mystery and allows you to experience the first-person perspective of indoctrination as intended? The EC isnt going anywhere. No reason why it needs to spoil anyone's first playthrough on their initial run...

Well, because from a non-IT perspective, the EC is just a more complete version of the current ending. No need to make them go through a less complete version.

If it is IT, however, then yeah, that makes perfect sense.

I just thought they would have mentioned that it had to be a completed playthrough or w.e.

What is LegendSave, exactly? It happens after you beat the game, not before? Sorry if I'm behind on this topic..

It's too late in the ball game for me to be giving stock to the face value interpretation any longer. My infamous phrase "in the face value context" has been shelved indefinitely, pending the results of my EC playthrough. :)

LegendSave is, as far as we could tell, a hidden save the game makes for you after you beat the game. It's placed just before Cronos station.

No, it's created when ordering the attack on CS and loaded after you've beaten the game.

Are you sure? Then why is Shepard on earth on trial for blowing up a bunch of Batarians?
