I guess I was right then. The EC is apparently a "tide over until the real expansion/DLC/sequel"
I think.
It's all so confusing right now, and I feel shell shocked.

Care to speculate about why Bioware would put several months of effort into making a long-promised ending DLC, that doesn't actually contain the "real" ending?
Any why would they say it's the only ending DLC they will be making, if the totes brilliant "real" ending is still on the way? Didn't they start on it ages ago, as part of their greatest twist ending in gaming history?

It is very likely that IT is true:

i can confirm that the 'reject all options' choice is real. it only happens if you shoot the star child. his voice will get all scary, he'll say 'so be it' and guess what? YOU LOSE ANYWAY. you see a hologram of liara saying they failed
I see this as a first clue that IT may be correct.
If you reject - according to people - starchild sounds like Harbinger. This may further suggest the theory that Starchild is controlled by the reapers.
Liara says they failed to win against the reapers and starchild says "so be it."
It's an indication that IT may be true.
Part of the theory discusses how "Starchild" is just a fabrication of the Repears to throw shepard off - and have him not choose "Destroy".
When you reject the ending - and Starchild says "so be it" (in Reaper voice) - and Liara says that they weren't able to succeed - it further indicates that Starchild was just a fabrication by the reapers.

I agree with MissLiya, there aint no saving it now... Lets face it IT never existed and BW never intended to include it.. What a waste of FUDGING TIME!!!! I feel very tempted to go trade in all my ME and BW related games seeing they dont give a ****!

No, I don't think it would. Shepard's not a person of inaction. To outright reject the catalyst when the option to "destroy" the reapers is right there is kind of symbolic of giving up. Not entirely like some would think of synthesis, because I guess this is more like indifference and... and my game just FROZE after Coates finished talking to me...nullobject wrote...

So we win.
Erm, shouldn't rejecting the Starchild result in Shepard waking up, not total failure?
Perhaps I win, as I predicted 2 days ago that the EC would have at least one ambiguous element (e.g. Starchild's voice sounding vaguely like Harbinger), and that ITs would proclaim this as absolute confimration of their theory.

Easy, Bioware don't pay as much attention to this as you do. Next?

You may notice that in the “Shepard lives” ending, the love interest hesitates to place Shepard’s name on the wall, and instead looks up as though deep in thought. This is meant to suggest that the love interest is not ready to believe Shepard is dead, and the final scene reveals they are correct. As the Normandy lifts off, there is hope that the love interest and Shepard will again be together.
Mind Blown....again!

sadly, the most important part of IT, "rejecting" the Reaper-Logic. leads to automatic Reaper win? Plus there are cutscenes/epilogues explaining what happened to the planets after you picked one colour? *sigh* All this makes it hard for me to believe in IT being confirmed...but maybe someone finds the ultimate hidden clue?
Ah...I thought I had prepared myself for the dissapointment, but I still feel sad somehow...especially as there doesn't seem to be a reunion-ending for Shepard...the only thing that had made the literal-interpretation acceptable for me![]()
For indoctrination to work it's magic in insidious ways, the mind should put at least some trust in it otherwise a hostile mind would have to be destroyed. No way a Shep shooting Catalyst would mean that Shed trusts it. That's like the biggest reason of IT in the first place: Shepard being friendly with the Catalyst which is a Reaper. It must be a ruse. Following the pathway Reapers offer leads to annihilation.
I'm in Europe, there are many more hours before I get to play it. So far this's my impression about the reject ending.

CALM DOWN!
Don't get angry, there's no point to losing control.
Let's think about this rationally.
There might be something here we are missing, there might not, either way, there is no reason to start a riot over it.

There is something here you're missing, namely:
The endings you got are the real endings. Bioware actually meant for you to take them seriously. The people who made them thought they were good. They really didn't expect them to be received so poorly.
And even though most people dislike them, they aren't prepared to admit they screwed up. So they've made this free DLC that addresses a few of the issues that can be fixed without a massive amount of work, and within that they've tossed a bone to people believeing in IT, in the hope they can retain you people as fans.
It's that simple. There are no more endings coming. The harby voice is the bone they've tossed you, to nourish your headcanon if you can't cope with the word of god.
